Automation 9/30+: Put an AI agent inside GitHub Issues

If your tracker already lives in GitHub, this is the easiest one in the whole series to install.

What it does

  • Add your "analyze" label to an issue → the AI posts a breakdown grounded in the repo it's sitting in
  • Comment back → it answers in the thread and settles the scope
  • Swap to your "build" label → it opens a pull request
  • No relay, no webhook, no extra token — it runs on native GitHub Actions triggers only

What it does not do

It never relabels, never closes issues, never merges its own pull request.

Honest note: beta — built and smoke-tested. It's also the simplest recipe here, so it's the best one to try first.

Setup

clone → ./setup.sh → pick GitHub Issues → answer a few questions
Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode

~5 minutes. No server, no database, free.

Get it

The recipe is open source: github.com/akshaypatel-ai/ai-automations

This is one of 30+ automations in the series — the full write-up lives on my site.
