To handshake, or not to handshake, that is the question.

Whether ‘tis more secure in the mind to suffer the deprecated ciphers and algorithms, or restrict to only the most contemporary cipher suites and by truly deprecating them, end them.

A socket layer error hath occurred

in which thy web request is halted, left

unto the endless void of /dev/null

and of connection thou art e'er bereft.

I feel seen and at same time unseen because the stats aren't moving.

Initially I thought that the stats are certainly cached on the backend... Just gotta figure out that TTL somehow 🙃. They do seem to be close to real time and I wish they weren't as brutal.

Today's comiCSS cartoon:

Cartoon with a bell chart titled 'Reactions to CSS Art'. At the bottom left, a figure of a surprised junior developer says 'That is cool'. At the top center, a mid-level developer cries 'No! That is wrong! You should be using SVG instead!'. At the bottom right, a senior developer grins and says 'That is cool'

I must admit that this meme is not my favorite (it degrades valid views and experiences), but it was fun to code a version in CSS. Maybe I should have added more details, but I like its simplicity (both visual and in code.)

And because it is coded in CSS and super-easy to change and create variations... here's a second version inspired/suggested by Ricardo Oliva Alonso:

Cartoon with a bell chart titled 'How developers see CSS'. At the bottom left, a figure of a smiling junior developer says 'CSS is Awesome'. At the top center, a mid-level developer cries 'No! That is wrong! You should not use plain CSS! Use frameworks! TAILWIND!'. At the bottom right, a senior developer grins and says 'CSS is awesome'

Based on a true story.
Basically they killed all our pipelines and we had to fix and generate new images. The announcement was 1 day before everything was being removed and the person getting the e-mail threw it away 😵

Also based on a true story.
We run 2 datacenters with 2 clusters so 4 containers total per application.
This for like 12+ applications is a lot of carbon emissions not needed.
