Absolutely true. Having a career in programming itself is the combination of two things:

1. Knowing the syntax - This is easy to pick up. It just takes practice. This is generally unique to the language being learned.
2. Knowing how to break down real world problems into logical blocks that can be solved via software - This is where your major career growth comes from. As a junior, you start by experimenting with those logical blocks (if/else/while/for/functions) and how they work. Experience allows you to chain all of those together to create... whatever you want.

Number 2 is the absolute force multiplier. Both can be learned!

Being a junior developer myself, I find the second point the most challenging tho. The syntax is fairly easy to pickup as you said but knowing how and when to apply those logical block is a key in your career.

hell yeah!!! I believe that !!!
We first have to look at what Mastering is.
To me it is being in control. Knowing what to do in any and every condition.
Knowing where to go and how to go there.
Its not about knowing everything. knowledge is everything.
but you need to be comfortable in your environment and handle every challenge as it comes. that is being masterful.

There is so much i just do not have it all at the top of my mind.
