Hi comrades! ๐ช
I think you now that sitting work isn't good enough for your body.
If speaking of me, my training program in past was similar to this:
But then I found out that it's not the best program ๐
I don't like go to the gym and I solved to find something for home training.
I've been training for Insanity by Shoun T. This program gave me a very big endurance ๐โโ๏ธ
Then I found App - Centr by Chris Hemsworth. Now I'm training by this program ๐๏ธ
So how do you usually maintain your health? ๐ค

Everyone in this thread should check out Flowstate by @leewynne , one of the first early Forems to go live. (Full open source instructions for Forem coming soon).
Thanks @ben ! Lots of developers have joined from Dev ๐ @danielkrupnyy that gif is pure gold ๐
Yep. This is the best workout I've ever seen ๐
I do it every morning ๐
๐๐๐
Strength workouts 3-4 times and biking/running 2-3 times a week.
I work as a personal trainer and I built this simple web app to scratch my own workout tracking itch. ๐ช

Looking Nice! Thanks!
I used Tailwind for UI and Next.js as my React framework. I wrote an article about it, if you're interested.
Cool! Send me please)

What did you use for UI?
Once tried doing workouts using some mobile app named BodBot, but it didn't really do much to me. ๐ Wasn't losing any weight despite my goal set on losing weight (Bodbot adapts its exercises to the goals you've chosen) and definitely sweating hard.
I also once joined a badminton club. Eventually I was banned because they thought I had some dangerous health condition due to how much I had to lie down as to not to faint (note: nothing's wrong with me, I just overdo myself and have low blood pressure by default). Conveniently I was banned the moment covid began and we got in lockdown, so I haven't attempted to defend myself on that matter.
Now I'm just trying to stay healthy with an exercise bike, by doing gardening, and when the weather's good enough I just play some badminton in the garden with my partner. Emphasis on trying. ๐
Wow, your training history is very interesting! If you want to get rid of stubborn fat, you need to reduce your calories. And it's all.
I was overweight, and I burned it only when the calorie content was reduced. I stopped eating all sugary foods and all flour products. It was hard, but it was worth it)
Haha, diet advice on dev.to!
I already did what you said. I never really liked sweet things like sugary food in the first place, I was on a strict keto diet for 3 months (recommended by my doctor) and my carbs intake is currently still limited. My fat levels were also already low, so that was definitely not an issue. It's just not working out I guess. ๐
You say you completely cut off on flour products. Do you mean you did that permanently? That's really impressive. ๐ I don't think I use a lot of products that contain wheat nowadays, since I mainly use alternatives, but I don't see myself never eating wheat bread ever again. I only have bread about once a month but I still absolutely love it lol!
I don't really know much about this kinda stuff, but people always say that just healthy food and moving a lot don't work separately. You have to do both. And I'm mostly missing the moving part. ๐
Free diet and workout advices for all ๐
Well, I did my diet for 3 months and that was enough. Now I'm eating sugar and etc. but once a week.
For weight loss, exercise isn't going to really do much since it will also increase hunger. I recommend changing your diet instead. Dealing with nutrition first also has the added benefit of making exercise easier and, depending on the individual, being less prone to injury.
Not sure if you've read everything else in the thread, but I'm doing exactly that. I ate way too many carbs (which I've drastically cut off after doing keto for 3 months and currently limiting the intake permanently), but other than that I've had the sufficient amount of nutrients my whole life.
I was never overweight until at a certain point in my life that was caused by multiple factors. I haven't been able to lose that weight again ever since, despite eating even healthier than before I was overweight.
I just started getting back into the gym (I was really into it years ago, then started spending more time focused on learning dev). I'm running the Greyskull LP program which is a good program for beginners and people getting back into the gym. It's really flexible and as a result can be modified to whatever your goals are.
Thank you for this info! I've never heard about this program
It's also referred to as GSLP. There's a variant called Phrak's GSLP and it's become a go-to for beginning and returning lifters in r/fitness. Here's some more information about it. There's a whole book about it with a lot more information, but this should be enough to get the gist. It's a 3 day/week program which focuses on compound lifts and then allows for accessories, circuits, etc depending on goals.

Thanks)
I workout to BOD workouts. Have you heard of Shaun-T? Well guess what? He's my teacher and hes INSANE!! YOU! CAN DO THIS! COME ON YO!!! LET'S GOOOOO !!!!
Right now im doing Shaun Week and while it only lasts a week, this is my second week and I absolutely love it.
Other workouts (not cardio) I'd recommend are The Work by Amolia Cesar and you can't forget about doing The Prep first, because if you want to do The Work, you have to do The Prep.
Another wonderful cardio program I'd recommend would have to be Morning Meltdown 100 by Jericho Matthews and DJ Josh (i think that's his name) she's insane too, very diverse workout program with a focus on "goal reflection".
Can't recommend BeachBodyOnDemand enough it's seriously good with like, I guess 100's of established programs with highly skilled instructors. A workout in particular that I haven't done has got to be P-90X. Very similar to The Work with weights and cardio combined, don't think there's a "prep" workout.
This is the list of programs I have done over the course of 2 years approximately (from July 31st of 2019) that is 548 days, and on average that's 6.16 workouts per week.
Yes, I do workout "son".

Archery count. If bow is not toy, it's would hard workout. You now, i'm thinking about it. I've seen video where guy created fishing bow from bicycle wheel. It's will my purpose on this summer. But where shall i find live fish at my house? ๐
I have been reading a bunch of books showing extensive research about the necessity of exercising. My psychiatrist also could not stress more with me about doing it consistently. Those resources together finally convinced me that exercising, especially cardio should be done at least 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes a day. I finally managed to build the habit of doing cardio every day for 30 minutes. As my doctor said, it does not have to be a crazy workout. I just need to make your heart beat faster and to make you breathe more heavily. Right now I am doing HIIT, but when I get bored of it I change. The exercise does not matter much. Find something that you like and do it.
Thanks! Good advice ๐
Movement is life
There should be an agree button instead of like ๐
I agree with you but don't like the situation ๐
For me it's the same, except the archery (cool sport!)
I love to workout on weekdays, it's a great boost for my day, 200 push-ups, 150 situps and 150 squats otherwise I just do Bullyjuices 20 min morning routine. Its great, start small however.
Cool! Your workout looks like Punchman's workout
Yeah that's the idea, simple, consistent and gradually increment.
Just curious, who is the character in the last gif
Oh I've no idea. But it's would be interesting for me to find out ๐ค
Not very familiar with the series, but I believe this is Michael from The Office.
You're right!
Since the gym closed in pandemic (now reopened but I don't dare to go), I made a push-up website:
pushups.ndn.today
Supported browsers: Firefox desktop, Chrome desktop, Chrome Android.
I built the routers and repository servers.
Vendors have been sending me discounts and swags to get featured with some push-ups in their honor.
It's awesome! Cool method of using push-ups! ๐ช
I mounted a pullup bar next to my desk and do prison style workouts sporadically throughout the day.
Dude, I have the same thing! ๐
Not at all currently. Lacking the energy and time. Fasting 16:8 helps not to gain weight though.
Yep. Fasting is cool!
You don't need a gym. All you need is a wall, side of your bed, chair, etc. There's a ton of calisthenics exercises out there.
I agree!
