Top 7 Featured DEV Posts from the Past Week: #SheCoded Edition

Every Tuesday we round up the previous week's top posts based on traffic, engagement, and a hint of editorial curation. The typical week starts on Monday and ends on Sunday, but don't worry, we take into account posts that are published later in the week.

This week's Top 7 is an extra-special edition in honor of #SheCoded. Learn more about this annual celebration of International Women's Day on DEV and contribute your own story here. Through March 9 @ 10:59 AM UTC, we'll be donating $20 to Girls Who Code in partnership with GitHub. Anyone who writes a post will also receive a $20 credit towards the #SheCoded merch collection on the Forem Shop!

Success takes many forms

"It's so easy to feel unworthy and incompetent when having to constantly prove yourself and one way I have been able to fight my impostor syndrome is by keeping a list of my achievements." - @whatminjacodes

Congrats on these motivating and impressive achievements, Minja!

Nevertheless, Evis Codes

@eevajonnapanula has been participating in SheCoded for years now, but each post she shares is enlightening and motivating in a whole new way.

Breaking the bias in tech by connecting with others

Thank you to @aneeqakhan for this awesome #SheCoded post! Take a look to see all of the fantastic achievements she's proud of, things she's overcome, and more!

Build women up

@kristiperreault shares a few personal examples of the kind of bias many women in tech face on a daily basis and has suggestions and requests for all of us to ensure tech becomes an increasingly safe and inclusive place for all developers.

Getting honest about being a woman in tech

In this powerful article, @abbeyperini reveals the truth about the stigma and weight that women have been dealing with in the tech industry for years

Helpful questions from an ally

In this article, @craignicol asks a series of thought-provoking and important questions for other men in the tech industry. To create real change for folks across the gender spectrum, we need the vocal support of allies like Craig.

Advice from someone who's been there

@jenc has observed a lack of mentorship for others from underrepresented and marginalized communities in technology. As such, she felt compelled to share some advice for those in this position, learned from years in the industry

That's it for our weekly Top 7 for this Tuesday! Keep an eye on dev.to this week for daily content and discussions...and be sure to keep an eye on this series in the future. You might just be in it!
