we_coded 2024! Empowering Change for Gender Equity in Tech πŸ”₯πŸ’ͺ🏽

Everyone! we_coded is back, and we are excited to celebrate with you for the entire month of March.

What’s we_coded?

we_coded is our annual event dedicated to celebrating DEV members who are underrepresented and marginalized in the tech industry on the basis of gender, especially women, transgender, and nonbinary individuals. we_coded is a continuation of the conversation that started with #SheCoded six years ago, and it's our chance to amplify voices, share experiences, and foster a more inclusive future in technology. Allies are welcome!

What's in Store:

Dates: March 1 - March 31, 2024

we_coded isn't just another event, it's an opportunity to join together in a larger discussion about gender equity in tech. Together we can make an impact by sharing your thoughts, stories, ideas, and manifestos. πŸ˜‰

This year, we commit to:

  • Showcasing your stories, insights, and ideas on DEV and across our social platforms πŸ’«
  • Rewarding participants with a unique we_coded badge πŸ’–

We hope this results in:

  • Important perspectives, experiences, and stories being amplified πŸ”Š
  • New connections between like-minded individuals and organizations. 🌱
  • A feeling of support amongst the community πŸ€—

How To Participate

Whether it's a personal story, a piece of advice, or a call to action, your contribution matters. Publish your post by starting from scratch or using this template for inspiration.

Not ready to publish your own post? You can amplify voices by leaving supportive comments and reactions on the stories you read. Even small actions can make a big difference.

Let’s empower change - one post, comment, or reaction at a time!

Note: This is a collective action movement to inspire an inclusive, harassment-free environment! All #wecoded posts will be reviewed by someone on our team. If you would like to learn about the community we’re fostering, please visit our Code of Conduct and Community Guidelines.

#wecoded

we_coded is a celebration of individuals who are underrepresented and otherwise marginalized in software development on the basis of gender: including women, transgender, nonbinary, gender non-conforming, and two spirit people.

Let's Make a Difference!

Together, we can create a more equitable and inclusive tech industry. We hope you'll join us for we_coded 2024 and be a part of something we believe is truly special.

Are you in? Share your excitement using #wecoded and spread the word!

Stay tuned for updates and announcements throughout the month.

Importante iniciativas como o #wecoded para motivar, inspirar e empoderar mulheres na tecnologia para que possam serem representadas na comunidade dev e se sentiram acolhidas ao ingressarem na Γ‘rea.
