Hey all!
My name is Jonny and I'm a well-travelled backend software engineer currently based in Paris, France, having previously worked in Canada, Brazil, Ireland, and the UK.
The majority of my experience has been on the Microsoft stack with C# and Azure, from working on productivity software to the AAA games industry. In the past year, though, I made the switch to Django Python with a bit of Ruby on Rails thrown in for good measure.
I'm really looking forward to learning from/discussing with you all on a variety of topics like software architecture and the latest ideas in software development, and hopefully even contribute myself!
Feel free to drop me a message if you'd like to connect, collaborate, or just generally bounce ideas off of!
Welcome Jonny 🎉

Hello 👋
My name is Octavia. I'm a trans woman and recently graduated college, now working as a software engineer at foursquare. I'm doing full-stack right now but my real passions are more systems levels work, especially with rust right now, and working with hardware.
Currently I'm trying to learn more about the USB spec to build my own game controller. I'm almost entirely self taught, but I have both dyslexia and ADHD so the number of hours in a day where I can really absorb new information is rather limited, couple that with having a full time job now, how dense the information on the USB spec is, and most of my hardware is in a storage unit right now because I'm in between apartments. So the learning USB has been going slowly but I hope here I can start learning more about maybe this topic and others that I have more of a passion for than just full-stack.
Hello Octavia, welcome to DEV!
Hey everybody! My name is Shoval, but you can call me Shovi.
I chose my parrot to be in my profile picture because she’s basically my world.
I’m dreaming of a big career.
Welcome!
Thank you!

Thank you!
welcome everyone!
AI is not the biggest threat to programming jobs; rather, it's a tool that can enhance productivity. AI excels at automating repetitive tasks, freeing up developers to focus on complex and creative aspects of software development. Instead of replacing human expertise, AI complements it, allowing for faster and more efficient workflows. Embracing AI tools can make programmers more valuable, not less.
