My editor told me I was an amazing technical writer especially for a non-native speaker.
That really made my day.
Best compliment ever.
At the beginning of the week I finished my 100 days of CSS art project! I can't believe 100 days have passed already! Plus, today I was able to optimise an animation at work using something I learned during the project 😁
If anyone fancies reading about my CSS art journey I wrote a little bit here
100 Days of CSS Art - Complete! 🎉

Re learned SQL, and almost learned Python.
I haven't been able to blog regularly with other work commitments. I still managed to stay up late yesterday and push one article out today. I would consider that as a win. Here's me wishing you all a great weekend!!
This week i was working on the oldest project we have and I did a deploy to production this morning. We all survived and that old big piece of software didn't died so it's a win for the team 😂
Congrats!!!
Finally re-launched cfe.dev/ - Almost completely rebuilt from the ground up with a new look, improved navigation, way better lighthouse score and new user accounts. For anyone curious, it's built using Jamstack with Hugo as an SSG, Algolia for search, Netlify Forms and Netlify Identity for user management.
Site is looking CLEAN ✨
Thanks! Appreciate the positive feedback.
A job I applied to got back to me within 24 hrs requesting a phone call with one of the engineers. 😄
I'm nervous but also pumped. 👊
📙 I made a lot of progress for my book, Building Your Mouseless Development Environment. The formatting for epub / PDF is 90% complete, I finished the outline, and I wrote the first drafts for the first chapters.
🎊
Finally getting better at creating visuals for my posts (at least from my point of view), now time to work my writing skills 👷♂️

I completed my first Github workflow :) It copies some OpenAPI spec files from one repo to a central API documentation repo when a new release is created.
AND my first PR was merged into github.com/forem/forem
I finished part 9 of the tutorial I'm writing, which took me forever to write. Some things in the project I'm writing about changed considerably while I was writing the code for the tutorial, while other dependencies had some issues... it was hard to finish, and harder still to review it!
I was approached by my country's digital technology department that is involved in accessibility initiatives in my country. To talk about the project DUST (Differently-Abled Upskill Training) which I'm teaching differently able individuals to learn to build websites using a low code platform over 3 months.
I gave 2 people (who were almost like strangers to me) some career advice!
I covered:
And most importantly, how to make time for a side hustle!
And I felt like...
Managed to get GlusterFS replica created and mounted on 3 node servers, and then automatically mounted on new servers as part of a terraform run. Being able to do that ourselves is going to save my company some serious money when we deploy our new application.
Means we don't need an external company involved in the building of a cloud in AWS, we can pick just about any cloud service now.
✅ I have finally finished setting up my personal NAS with a RAID10 based on 4 HDD :D I don't need to use anymore Google Drive or Onedrive.
✅ 6 months of cold shower, I'll definitely keep this habit.
🚂 The next project in progress: build my own FPV drone, I'm so excited :D
I just published my first video on Youtube.

Dusted off my BeautifulSoup skills to scrape a results list from a web page, the layout of which makes a simple copy-paste ineffective. I'll be doing this daily for a little while probably, so automating a step is nice.
I'm always taken with how easy BeautifulSoup is to work with.
My car's been misfiring and cutting out, so I fixed that with some cheap parts from ebay.
I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who's engine bay has seen the light of the sun on my estate in years and I felt kinda mechanically competent for a half-hour or so.
Pretty good couple weeks that my last year self would have envied this year's, created a podcast player that I'll be open sourcing when I get the time. Finished a project (if ever there's such a thing) and just started working on a new one, and it seems like I'll be working on another project when this one ends 😎.
Made a logo for twitter.com/mkws_1. The black bracket represents a terminal prompt, and the blue brackets stand for HTML tags, blue for the well known color of links.
This week I was able to tackle a couple of issues that have haunted me for a long time ✌
Really enjoyed dedicating time to this!
That is the best feeling.
Received this amazing pull request to my app, and was able to guide the contributor to finally getting it merged. Not really my win per-se, but it sure felt like one :)
I’ve consistently written one article a week wether it’s a tutorial or what I have learned, earned the 4 weeks streak badge to go alongside my top 7 badge.. looks nice! 😅
Wrote my first Deno Library. Its gonna be public soon.
My third ever blog post got five interactions! 🕺
Published my first article on DEV. Planning for a second one this weekend.

I took a three-day-micro-vacation and started watching "The X-Files" 👽
I spoke at the virtual edition of GitLab Commit on Wednesday. This was my third talk in English (second language) in less than a year, the first one was at GitLab Commit London last October.
Made a clever method of raising and capturing events in my custom MVC framework (if I do say so myself!).
I started working on my latest project
Started learning Redux. Pretty tricky and confusing but I'll still learn it.
I still haven't found a new remote job, but we went on a mountain hike during the weekend.
This week I spoke at GitLab's first ever virtual conference -- GitLab Commit! (as is the case with almost every conference I guess?)
My project Hoppscotch hit 22,000 GitHub stars ✨

I had some time for programming and completed my last project written in go ⚡️.
I published my first post ever, and started as a professor's assistant at my college!
Got my first job django developer )

Loading time of a specific page in our application was too slow , took almost 13-15 seconds to load. It takes almost 5-6 seconds now. :)
