Cold Pitch Pro - practice your sales pitch with realistic AI customers!

What I Built

I'm very excited to share my new project: Cold Pitch Pro!

For many solopreneurs and indie makers, selling the finished product after months of building feels like a formidable obstacle. There is a certain fear to overcome with approaching your first potential customers and pitching your passion project - including the fear that a poor pitch will sour the market before your product has a fair chance at success.

Enter Cold Pitch Pro: an email-only interface purpose-built for rapidly practicing your sales pitches with realistic AI customers imitating people from your target market! The personas are modeled to be complex, with layered prompt generations mimicking human gut reactions, thoughts, and memory in relation to conversing about your sales pitch.

• As the invented customer, Cold Pitch Pro decides how to react to your message and emails a response along with Coaching Tips and Predictions of what your potential customer may be thinking

Project Features

Here’s what’s happening behind the scenes:

• Email conversation threading: Emails in a reply chain are understood by Cold Pitch Pro to be part of a single ongoing Conversation. Sending a new email (outside of a reply chain) starts a brand new Conversation with a unique persona and memories.

• Value beyond ChatGPT: My focus was creating a tool that does more than just prompt an AI chatbot. Cold Pitch Pro’s layered prompting system builds an immersive, human-like conversation and feedback loop.

• Nuanced decision making: Just like a real lead, the AI can decide to ghost you, engage you in conversation, and accept or decline your offer. The conversation memory, simulated emotions, and reactions all play into each decision the AI makes.

• Low-friction monetization: I'm really interested in the possibility of an email-first SAAS business model, which is included in this project! As soon as you send your first email to Cold Pitch Pro, a free trial account is created. Each reply counts down your trial, and every response quietly includes a subscription link to upgrade the account.

You can pitch just about anything, and Cold Pitch Pro will roll with it. If you’re not sure what to pitch, try pretending you’re a startup founder selling your idea to a VC named Victor.

Testing instructions:

1. Email [e-mail] with your sales pitch

2. Wait about 1–2 minutes for an email response

3. Continue the conversation! Even if you're ghosted, you can still try to re-engage the prospect

How I Built It

I wanted to build something that could function as a true 'business-in-a-box' using only email. Postmark’s inbound and outbound email handling was a perfect fit!

Cold Pitch Pro was inspired by the real challenges of selling to prospects as a solopreneur. Practicing your pitch with realistic AI personas seemed like the perfect solution.

The tech stack is straightforward: TypeScript, Node.js, and Firebase (Firestore Database + Firebase Functions).

I've previously built email-based apps using Gmail and a tangle of Google Event triggers, but Postmark made the experience much smoother and more reliable - which meant I could focus on the fun part: the AI business logic.

Most of my development time went into fine-tuning the persona, decision-making, and reply-generation prompts. Thanks to Firebase and Postmark’s easy setup, I was able to dive straight into the core of the project.
