A 3-minute hip unlock after a long coding block

After a long coding block, try this 3-minute hip reset:

  1. Stand tall and take a few easy breaths.
  2. Step one foot back into a short split stance. Tuck the back-side glute gently, then shift your weight forward until you feel a mild stretch at the front of that hip. Hold for 30 seconds per side.
  3. Sit back into a comfortable figure-four shape—standing or seated—and hinge slightly from the hips. Hold for 30 seconds per side.
  4. Finish with five slow bodyweight squats, keeping the range easy and the knees tracking comfortably.

Move slowly, keep the sensation mild, and stop if you feel sharp pain, numbness, or tingling. A small reset between blocks can make it easier to return to the keyboard with less stiffness.
