I was reading for a while about AR and VR development and for me is a big field with great possibilities, for example, I think technology is about transitions and popular technologies like instant messaging, which is an old concept that exists since almost the birth of the internet, can keep evolving with the help of AR.
What are your thoughts on this topic? What technologies can evolve or born with AR and VR when it becomes more popular?

I feel like it will be quite a while until technology and UX truly meet with VR/AR. In the meantime there will be some novel applications, but nothing major for some time IMO. The earliest applications will probably be the ones that don't need universal adoption, like folks running virtual multi-screen setups instead of physical ones.
But then the big adoption will happen once the things that do need universal adoption get polished, like conference calling and general remote communication etc.
I like to think they have met already recently and are now getting better acquainted.
