As I am fresh out of coding bootcamp, I have been actively searching for my first job and actually got an offer for a data analyst position yesterday on my birthday!

Congratulations! 🎉 Getting your first job offer is super exciting!

Congrats! the feeling you got for getting your first job is awesome, keep up the good work! :D

Congrats! 🎉 As a fellow bootcamp grad also on the job hunt, I understand what it's like.

That's amazing would you mind sharing a story how you went through, projects you made, interview prep and the likes

Fresher this side.

Refused to work for a web development company who exploited students to work for them for free as interns without any mentor.

I made a really tough decision this week for the sake of my mental and physical health.

Good for you! I also feel this this week. Is funny how just coming to a decision can be empowering, if (in my case) a little sad and scary.

I've enjoyed finishing my first street painting. It was a glorious experience form zero knowledge about drawing and painting to a satisfying and encouraging result.

Started diving deeper into JS frameworks and came to the conclusion that I enjoy working with Vue way more than React. Now I have a better idea on what to focus on 😁 Next step is to find someone willing to hire me at my current skill level!

Vue is amazing! I use it for an internal website, I don't know it it works well with older browsers.

This week. I started re-writing the site of the non-profit I've been working with for the past 4 months to cookiecutter-django. There's just major bugs on the current site I've developed hence moving on cookiecutter-django.

The tendinitis in my right Achilles is getting much better. I’ve been back at the gym (not doing everything) and it feels pretty good. Also, my swimming coach is awesome. She’s been helping me improve my technique week after week. Look out Mr. Phelps!

Written this:

dev.to/gochev/dev-to-in-web-comics... and joined dev.to this week I think both count ? :)

No in reality, maybe the fact that the girl I am in love with told me that she is proud of me, because of a job opportunity I received, in fact I pass on it and even the fact that I received it was not that huge of a deal, her words were.

This week I took an Interview feedback. Since I didn't get the job, I'm really because due to the fact that I did my best when it comes to speaking on my second language (English).

This year I started with a goal of speaking fluently,so I did my best to teach myself English(Specially pronunciation) and facing an Interview all in English was such an incredible experience!

Starting to lead a team again after my total burnout earlier this year and receiving positive feedback on my first week!

Good to hear, burnout's tough, I've been there. Happy that you're finding your way out if it!

Finally got around to using the downey.dev domain I bought last February. 😊

Pointed k8s.downey.dev at my toy Kubernetes cluster and was able to write this post with it!

Got a conditional offer on a new job! Super excited about it.

  • Put on👖, left the 🏠 and had lunch with a friend 🥙
  • Powered through my anxiety and worked on some career things I had been putting off 💪🏽

Made it to 18 months in my first dev role and just found out that I've gotten a pay rise above what I expected for my effort!

I have been trying to learn Javascript for months now and I am finally getting the hang of it. Did my first project with butterflies changing colors

Wrote two articles on dev.to this week that documented what I'd learnt in the past 7 days. Glad I beat procrastination to the punch.

My app is on google play!!!! (Details in a post next week)

I finally completed my mini project with JavaScript and added it to my github account. Its a win because its my first ever live project and Im happy to see something shape up nicely in my journey of learning JS.

Hello there! happy weekend, my goal this week was to get the project that we were so many months behind it with my agency, now we've got it! :)

We did a coding dojo with my team at work and I did great in a language I'm not really familiar with. I'm the only junior in the team and they told me I took a much better path to the solution then the others. It felt great :)

For the first time in maybe six weekends in a row, I’m not writing code for work. In fact, I’m standing next to the stage waiting for Ben Kweller to come out. I am so burned out, I almost didn’t come to this concert we bought tickets for months and months ago. My first weekend free, and I really just wanted to spend it at home.

But here I am, and that is a WIN. 💪🏻

I finished my first sketchbook with UI-Design. And bought a moleskine today as my next one.

Also added 2 additional workouts into my weekly schedule (total of 5 now).

So it was quite a nice week.

Learned cypress and helps my company to do e2e testing.☺️

I flew to Oslo, Norway to give a presentation on Flutter for Web at Mobile Era.

Finished a Sinatra Project in Bootcamp and passed my assessment. 😬
Working on refactoring a Sessions Controller and thinking about integrating 0Auth before I deploy to Heroku.

Getting my first real >$100 income from remote developer jobs (using Codementor.io) 🎉

I completed creating my JS course on Educative and I've submitted it for review

I started contributing to the open-source again and got the PR merged. Although was a startup script change, but it felt great.

Many more to come.

I set up my first github pages site and set it up with Jekyll headers! It’s super basic but it’s a start 🤩

I challenged myself to walk at least 100km (~62.14mi) during this week (I'm on holiday in Japan). Ended up at 103.2km (~64.13mi).

Discovering (with the help of dev.to feedback) bulk SQL insert using dedicated function for this, in C#. Saves a lot of time in my project!

Loads of stability, infrastructure, documentation and boring none codey things. Huge benefits for the long term though.

Well I just started two new game projects and also done a large update to my website. The games are in C# and unity and site is in python flask. :)

This week is one of the best for me. The 100th user signed up for my new community, Hyvor Groups. Also, the 250th post was created. Also, the 50th group was created.

It's almost 10 months i started programming and i just landed my first gig. It's a movie academy site for a Facebook friend, and I'll be using it to start my portfolio.

My biggest win is that I finished a project with my friend last Friday. It's a study for his doctorate and will be used next week. I hope everything goes well 😅

I've finished my 5 months intensive school and presented my team project (a website we developed during October) to 150 listeners on Twitch 😅
Now is time for job search and personal work 😀
