Real-Time Offline Markdown Editor: Meridian

Meridian: Real-Time Offline MarkDown EditorBeing a developer and maintaining git repos and emails, everyone came across Markdown format and let's admit, it is kind of a utility on a daily basis when you have to deal with Tech Artifacts or simple Email Layout communications.

So What is a Markdown?

Markdown is a lightweight markup language based on the formatting conventions that people naturally use in email. As per reference on the Markdown site

The overriding design goal for Markdown's formatting syntax is to make it as readable as possible. The idea is that a Markdown-formatted document should be publishable as-is, as plain text, without looking like it's been marked up with tags or formatting instructions.

Why Markdown?

  • Markdown has essentially proven to easy to learn and configure and ready to go with it.

  • One of its key strengths is that you can use HTML in Markdown. If there's something you can't do in Markdown, or if you can't remember the Markdown syntax, you can switch back and forth freely between HTML and Markdown within one document. It understands both.

  • You don't have to have Markdown installed on your site in order to use it. It's amazingly useful just as a writing language. Even if you don't have to convert to HTML at all, it's still an appealing way to format plain text without having to deal with Microsoft Word or another goofy rich-text editor.

  • Easy To Read

"The overriding design goal for Markdown's formatting syntax is to make it as readable as possible," writes John Gruber of Daring Fireball, creator of Markdown. "The idea is that a Markdown-formatted document should be publishable as-is, as plain text, without looking like it's been marked up with tags or formatting instructions."

  • Fewer Errors

While using HTML for basic Document purposes there can be errors and syntactic mishaps. Markdown prevents all of that.
If it is so awesome then, What we are doing about it?

Great work on the animation and app
Personally not a fan of apps with animations blocking the app, but this was nice.

I still would prefer my lighter alternative
