Selling online from home or a small godown usually means printing the same few things all day: order numbers, short return addresses and "fragile" tags. A desktop label printer ties you to a power socket and a computer. A battery-powered mini printer does not.
The setup
We use our own PackForge mini Bluetooth thermal printer for this:
- Power: 750 mAh rechargeable battery, charged over USB Type-C from a phone charger or power bank
- Connection: Bluetooth 5.0 straight to your phone, no Wi-Fi or laptop needed
- Size and weight: 12 x 12 x 8 cm, 0.57 kg, so it fits on a packing table or in a bag
- Paper: 58 mm direct thermal rolls, no ink or ribbon
A packing-table workflow
- Keep the printer charged overnight on a Type-C cable.
- Open the order list on your phone.
- Print the order number and a short return address for each parcel.
- Add a "fragile" tag where needed.
- Stick the label next to the courier's own shipping label.
Where it does not fit
It prints 58 mm wide labels, so it will not produce full 4 x 6 inch courier shipping labels. Most marketplaces generate those as A4 or 4 x 6 PDFs, which need a wider label printer. Treat the mini printer as the tool for small extra labels, not the main shipping label.
Cost
The printer is Rs 4,419 + GST (Rs 5,214 total) with 10 rolls in the box, and delivery is free in India.
