Hello :) I have a degree in philosophy and always considered myself rather right-brained, but a few months ago I lost my job (thank you, corona v.)... Making (not so) long story short, for now, I'm totally into web development and UI. I love to learn new things and to make my code work as intended. Life can be very surprising :)
So here I am - a bookworm who loves to draw animals - digging deeper into front-end world, hoping to find a job in IT and meet some nice people.
I'm kind of a bookworm myself also so welcome to the dev club!
Hello
Hi!
Hi!
Hello

Good luck
Welcome on board!
Hallo
👋
Hello there! Welcome to dev.to
Yayay. Welcome to #DEVCommunity.
Welcome ! Team bookworms too :D
Hi I am Elias :) I am on dev.to since some days.
I am a former Google Engineer and want to improve my technical writing as well as keep up to date with new tech.
I write about how I got into Google, what Codesphere (why I left Google) does, tech (highly opinonated lol) and whatever stupid idea comes to my mind :)
Looking forward to get to know you all :)
Hello
Likewise am hoping to improve my technical writing. Excited to take a look at your writing!
Hello Elias. You have an exciting profile. Will read your posts and come back ;-)
Awesome :) What is div ops?
I recently came across this term on Twitter, a frontend who manages dev-ops as well :-P
Only for frontend like with Netlify/Vercel? Or all dev ops?
Yeah, mainly for frontend and other overlapping components like MySQL for Wordpress etc.
awesome :)
Hello I'm Nanji, completely new in Web Development With no background in Web Dev. I am changing from IT support to Front/Backend + UX design field, currently learning HTML, CSS, JavaScript, I have joined to learn from and meet the DEV's to connect with.
We both can learn Web development together. I am currently learning HTML , CSS and Php. Let me know which task you will be working on so that I can also try.
Hello,
Nice to hear from you, just over a week ago-I have just started an online Web Development boot camp course, am on the HTML+CSS path currently, and enjoying the course. Agree that we should learn together.
Where are you located?
Are you self-Learning Web Dev?
Yes, I am self learning. Would be great if you can share some notes and exercises you are working on.
Hi Nanji, I'm in the same boat as you! I have an IT degree and have worked in IT Support for 2 years but I'm switching to Frontend development! I'm currently making my portfolio website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Hello, Nice to hear from you, I worked in IT support for almost 5 years, last year was made redundant, and decided to switch to Web Dev am currently learning HTML and CSS, do you have a learning / study plan?, also please share as also would like to make my Portfolio website, I googled to search for mentorship and Web Dev boot camp course/s - but to costly, hence I Joined DEV.IO hoping to learn as much as possible.
I recommend MDN Web Docs for a structured learning plan on Web development. It's sooo useful and it's free! It gives you a basic fundamental understanding of the web and it goes into detail so you can understand everything.
For my portfolio I decided to make it from scratch (without using WordPress, Wix..etc) found these articles helpful:
Tools I used:
I believe that you don't need to pay for bootcamps to learn Web Development. All if not most resources are already free available online.
I hope that helps and feel free to ask more questions and i'll try my best to answer.
Perfect - Many thanks
Hey Nanji, I'm also kind of where you are. I'm trying to focus on making some projects that are html, css+ js based.

Don't rack up too many open tabs.lol

Hi everyone! I recently discover this site and I love the community and the different post. But in was thinking about what I can post or about the topics that I can post. I hope find anything to share with you. 😁
What about sharing your personal journey to programming?
There's a whole host of topics you can write about. Even if you think you're not "experienced" enough, I'm sure others will find your input on a topic interesting.
Hi, I'm Sanchit from India, I've read some articles on dev.to and that's what brought me here.
I am currently learning ReactJS (and would be happy to have a mentor).
I am also trying to be regular on coding (planning to take #100daysof code challenge).
I am also thinking to start posting, share with the community what I know.
Pss - any tips to avoid procrastination 😀
Hi, I'm Kirill. I was reading some posts on dev.to here and there, but I recently thought why not to start posting myself. I'm already planning my first article which will hopefully appear in the next days. I ❤ front-end and game development.

Hi, my name is Dominik and I code mostly in the world's best coding language (Python). My background is strongly mathematical (I hold 2x MSc. in related fields). I have a wide range of interests spanning from coding related to trading on financial markets/cryptocurrencies to topics like automation, RPA, AI, AGI, automated reasoning, machine learning methods, data science, quantum computing, and computer games.
I am going to share here some content regarding either tutorials for some of the named topics or some general (prevalently Python or mathematical) hacks. I will be very happy if you follow me here and on my github github.com/DovaX.
Stay tuned for what is coming!
welcome to dev.to Dominik
looking forward to reading your content!
Hello World! I'm SHA888, just another new kid on the space. With no previous background in programming or computer science, I consider myself as a self-thought, dev-wanna-be. Here I'd like to learn from and surround myself with real dev ;)
Hi SHA888, I'm also a self taught dev-wanna-be. welcome!
Hi everyone! My name is Alex, and i'm from Spain. I'm a front end developer, working with React, and lately i've been overwhelmed by the amount of posibilities out there.

What's up, folks. I hear this place is all the rage? I've been posting on Medium for a while, but wondering if I should make the switch to this camp. :)
Here's waaaay better than Medium for posting about tech. Welcome to the club!

Hi all! I am a full stack dev and am just starting to do some writing. My passion lies in building out data-driven dashboards and apps heavy in data visualization. This has led me to build out a lot of web apps in urban/civic tech, natural resource management, music, and the outdoors.
My favorite apps that I have built to date are TroutX (troutx.org/) and Avy App (avy-app.netlify.app/)

Hi there!
I’m a Communication & Multimedia Design student in Amsterdam. I learn about Interaction and Visual Design and a lot more about Web Development.
I want to expand my contribution to the webdev community online, maybe make some new webdev friends along the way, and I hope I can start my journey here. :)

Hello :) I currently study computer science but I am seriously considering quiting since I have an opportunity to start a project that is a huge opportunity, and I have been learning by myself for all of uni so it really doesn't make much of a difference x.X. I'm ranting now but I really believe university's modus operandi is starting to show its age.
Ah, I'm 21 and I live in Portugal
Hi guys, I recently just stumbled upon this platform. I have an IT degree/background but decided I want to pursue Frontend Web Developing! I'm currently building on my website portfolio which will be up soon so I can land a junior frontend job. I'm excited to publish it. Other than that, when I'm not coding I do digital art on the side.
Hi, I am also new here. I have been doing CRM and development interchangeably for the past four years. Recently I decided to start writing some posts about what I learned and hence it was only natural for me to finally sign up for an account. So far this place is awesome! :)
Hello, my name is Jeremy! I'm not really sure what this website is all about yet, but I saw a lot of developers that I follow have an account here. I'd love to have a place to share software development ideas and also learn a lot myself. I've been a full stack developer for around 8 years, and I've recently been expanding my skillset to Data Science. I also consider myself a maker, and love to create things with wood, 3D printing, embedded systems and sewing.
