It actually has better specs than my 11 years old (from 2007) Sony laptop.
But my laptop's battery life (10 minute) is much longer than RPi4's battery life (n/a).
Mine arrived in the post today - everything I've tried and bothered to benchmark is 2-3x faster. Storage via usb and ethernet are way faster and seem to cause less load too.
Go on, you know you want to buy one....
You can actually use it as a media center now for your brand new TV
Edit: it's cheaper than the Chromecast Ultra, Ruku 4k and Fire stick's 4k varient!
Will pick one up in the US as soon as there's stock. They're a bit pricier in Euroland.
I live a relatively short train journey from Cambridge, where there's a dedicated Raspberry Pi store, and I've been meaning to go there when I have a week off work next month. Guess I have even more reason now!
Welp, it doesn't have HDMI out, so it's already cancelled.
2 Micro-HDMI outputs though at better output. Can solve with a cheap adapter from AliExpress/gearbest etc, although you will need to consider the small amount of space between the ports and go for one with flex cable rather than an all-in-one block.
Only downside is Micro HDMI is a little brittle at times
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA they made an RPi with more than 1GB of RAM!! 😁😁
Great review over at Tom's Hardware.
If anyone wants to invest in a fan with the heatsink, check out Microsoft's active cooling your RPi 3 to see how they have done it. It is utterly one of the most creative solution!
Yeah, who needs apples when you can have apple PIs (read: apple pies) :P
