Hey there, soon-to-be Docker enthusiast! π
Welcome to Advent of Docker - your 24-day journey into the wonderful world of containers! Whether you're completely new to Docker or looking to level up your skills, you're in for a treat (or to be exact, 24 treats).
Inspired (and simplified) by the Advent of Code, you get bite-sized Docker knowledge every day! From December 1st to 24th, 2024, we'll explore everything containers - from basic concepts to advanced techniques. At the end of the 4 weeks, you will certainly have learned Docker and if you're lucky, you might even win some awesome swag!
The Journey
Here's what we've got planned:
- Week 1: Baby steps! We'll start with the absolute basics - installation, running your first container, and getting comfortable with Docker commands
- Week 2: Level up with intermediate concepts like Docker Compose, networks, volumes, and secrets
- Week 3: Put on your pro hat as we dive into advanced topics like multi-platform builds, BuildKit, and Docker-in-Docker
- Week 4: The fun finale! We'll explore container orchestration, peek into Docker's history, and check out some cool open-source projects
Win Some Swag! π
Here's the exciting part - you can win some awesome merch! Here's how:
- We'll have 3 quizzes at the end of each week
- Your scores will be tracked across all quizzes
- The person with the highest total score wins amazing swag from Sliplane and partners
- In case of a tie, we'll randomly select a winner from the top scorers
Ready to Start?
Grab your coffee, fire up your terminal, and let's begin this Docker adventure together! Each day's lesson will be short, practical, and hopefully, fun!
See you tomorrow for Day 2, where we'll get our hands dirty with Docker installation! π³
