It's a new year, and that means time for a new year of conferences! What conferences--virtual or in-person--do you want to attend this year? Are you speaking, sponsoring, or going as an attendee?
I'm starting the year off strong, speaking virtually at You Got This! on January 14th and then live at THAT Conference on January 18th.

So far, all I have on the agenda is RenderATL. Pretty excited for it TBH!
This afternoon I head up to CodeMash 2023. I'm also helping review sessions for Stir Trek in May and looking forward to that.
I always submit to Momentum and hope to be accepted this year, but it can be very competitive so we shall see.
Other than that, I'm possibly submitting to THAT Wisconsin and KCDC depending on work availability during their times.
Beyond that, I'll be looking for targets of opportunity, particularly those I can do remote or even pre-record video segments for.
This year is more about helping my community by reviewing / organizing than speaking.
Did I miss the Stir Trek cfp?
Nope. Almost immediately after CodeMash ends. It should be Sunday.
It's a good idea for someone to write a post with the list of the best conferences. Here are the ones I know about
PyCon: A conference for the Python programming language community.
AWS re:Invent: A conference for developers and IT professionals who work with Amazon Web Services.
Google I/O: A conference for developers hosted by Google.
Black Hat: A conference focused on information security and cyber threats.
Strata Data Conference: A conference for data professionals, including data scientists, engineers, and analysts.
What do you think makes a conference "the best"?
I will go to LaraconEU 2023 and PHPDay2023 for sure.
Then I have to decide yet for something about the Javascript world.
For all the people that are familiar with PHP, i created a list: dev.to/robertobutti/php-conference...
Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Headed to CodeMash at the moment. I’m back home for HalfStack Phoenix on February 3rd, and off to DevNexus to give an accessibility auditing workshop in April!
The GOTO conference in Amsterdam has been a delight. Got to meet so many devs from around the world and superb talks. Will repeat that for sure.
I aim for NDC Oslo, but any of the NDC's would do :)
GOTO has also been a nice experience in the past, so maybe also GOTO Copenhagen
I've heard great things about NDC Oslo!
