What I find admirable is not that DEV has merely grown Big.
It is that it has grown Big without growing Bad.
Obviously that's always a work in progress.
But still, that's like the quadrature of circle on the modern internet.

Yup no toxicity without much moderation tools or such. Stack for instance has too much priesthood at this point.
Yeah, StackOverflow sucks. That's one of the reasons I originally migrated to DEV.
Unfortunately nowdays it is dead (for me).
Some people would beg to differ.
While the community isn't toxic I've heard there's a lot of bots and spamstuff.

The DEV team should buy out SO and reform the entire platform. It would become such a welcoming, friendly and open platform where developers would learn 10x more without being ashamed for being a beginner. It's just too bad SO is bigger than DEV so this is unlikely.
