One of my posts got more than 20k views in it's first week! This is the first time anything I've written has had such an impact, so it was really exciting! π₯³
Good stuff, Jake! Was just looking through your posts and you've been steadily sharing some great stuff. It's about time you had one that blew up.
Don't get me wrong, I like this week's post, but I also really dug your one before that here:

Keep on truckin' and thanks for sharing such great posts with the community!
Thanks @michaeltharrington !!!
Nice! Congrats.
(and here I am happy that mine got almost 100 views π )
Thanks!
Nothing wrong with this! This is literally how most of my other posts are as well. Before this past week, I was thrilled that I had hit 500 views. And I'm sure that's how more of my posts will be in the future. The important thing is to just keep sharing your knowledge. Whether you're helping 1 person or 1,000,000...all that matters is that you're helping others and sharing your knowledge! Keep it up!
That's a massive amount of traffic! That's amazing!
T⦠t⦠ttttwwwenty⦠ttttthhhhousand? Woah. I have 756 total post views, over 262 days⦠dang. That was one week.
Um idea. As a congrats gimme a logo idea u might want, because I want to design you one :) think of it as a prize (and its good publicity but we dont talk about that)
sounds like an interesting idea, thank you for the offer!
wraith has been my tag/online id/username/etc for years now. The little guy you see in my avatar is my "mascot", his name if D. Bugz (Bugz for short). So maybe something along those lines.
Oh, 100%. That was my idea anyway, do you have like a theme you want, like a background or something? I could also βrealistic-ifyβ it a little bit, but not too much so that it looks fun still. I will share ideas in a post.
nope, no particular theme in mind! excited to see what you come up with π
Congrats! man.
Congratulations! This is big! π
Thanks @anitaolsen !!!
Gave a talk at a conference for the first time based on the series I wrote a few months ago. I hope to give one in person next time around π
Stressful and awkward to watch myself, but also fun and worth celebrating I guess lol
Uow. How do you make these cool embeddings?
Good question!
The syntax is like this
{% embed https://... %}
Here's the announcement post that talks about them a bit (gonna use an embed for it):
Feature update: Rich Content Embeds
Arit Developer for The DEV Team γ» Feb 16 '22
There are a couple exceptions to the rule I believe with CodePen and CodeSandbox... those work like this:
{% codepen https://... %}
{% codesandbox https://... %}
Anywho, hope this info helps ya and lemme know if you have any questions!
Uow, thanks! This is of public interest!!
And here we are making use of it β€οΈ Thanks @michaeltharrington

You rock! Appreciate you writing this up and sharing it with everybody. π
Awwww yeaaah! That's awesome Fernando. I'm sure your talk rocked.
Just to note that a "Battlesnake on Crystal" sounds pretty terrifying. π
If only intimidation played a part in the game that would work in my favor π€£
Haha! π You need someone to draw ya up a graphic of a snake on meth going into battle. If it doesn't help your intimidation factor, it'll at least get their attention.
Awesome! Well done! β¨
Two of my talks were accepted to Confoo 2024!

Check it out if you have any free time! I'd appreciate the traffic.

Finally, I have completed my first-time participation in Hacktoberfest by successfully finishing four mergesπ₯³.
I received a wonderful digital reward kit from Holopin,and it was truly amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed contributing to open source, thanks to Hacktoberfest
I got to see the final cover of "Refactoring with C#" and had a new book for the new year accepted by a publisher. The contract is uniformly worse than the one for the book I just completed so I'll either negotiate it or wait for something better, but it's still a win. Oh! Also, I got to emcee Scott Hansleman and Mark Downie last night at the Central Ohio .NET Developer Group, which is still surreal to me.
Update on this one: my attempt to get better terms with the new publisher resulted in no changes so I'll be rejecting that offer outright once I'm less upset at their terms ($0 advance, 10% royalties starting out, the right to simply not pay if you're owed less than $100 at any point, and no compensation for bundled or heavily discounted books). The search goes on.
