When people ask me,
“What can ChatGPT actually do in real life?”
—I smile, because I’ve seen it solve more than just silly internet questions.
I’ve used ChatGPT to solve writer's block, fix messy Excel files, build automation flows, draft marketing plans, brainstorm startup ideas, and more.
Here are 10 real-world problems I’ve personally solved using simple, structured prompts — no code, no fancy setup.
Problem Case 1. Messy Data in Excel
Problem: A client sent me a 2,000-row Excel sheet with inconsistent formatting, merged cells, and blank headers.
Prompt used:
“You are an Excel expert. Here’s a table (paste data sample). Clean this up: unmerge cells, standardise formatting, and ensure consistency.”
Solved in under 3 minutes. Used it to write the “ChatGPT Prompts for Excel” book.
Problem Case 2. Lack of Content Ideas
Problem: I needed 30 days of LinkedIn post ideas for AI education.
Prompt used:
“Act as a personal brand strategist. Generate 30 educational post ideas about AI for business leaders on LinkedIn.”
Result? A month’s worth of high-performing content.
Problem Case 3. Confusing Legal Writing
Problem: Drafting website policies that sounded too robotic.
Prompt used:
“Rewrite this privacy policy in clear, human-friendly language while keeping it legally accurate.”
I now use ChatGPT as my legal tone converter.
Problem Case 4. Client Not Paying
Problem: I needed to send a polite but firm payment follow-up email.
Prompt used:
“Write a professional follow-up email for a delayed payment. Be polite, but include a reminder of the agreed timeline.”
Result: Paid the next day.
Problem Case 5. Designing a Course Structure
Problem: I wanted to create a new AI course for non-tech founders.
Prompt used:
“Act as an instructional designer. Create a 6-module beginner-friendly course on using AI in small businesses.”
That outline turned into a published online course.
Problem Case 6. Broken English in Book Drafts
Problem: Some parts of my early drafts didn’t flow well.
Prompt used:
“Edit this paragraph to improve clarity, flow, and professionalism. Maintain my original tone.”
Result: A smoother, more polished final manuscript.
Problem Case 7. Struggling to Focus
Problem: I was getting distracted and felt stuck.
Prompt used:
“Act as a productivity coach. Help me plan my next 4 hours of deep focus. Include breaks, task batching, and motivation tips.”
Helped me get back on track in minutes.
Problem Case 8. Cold Outreach Wasn’t Working
Problem: My emails weren’t getting replies.
Prompt used:
“Write a cold email for my consulting service to a mid-sized marketing company. Focus on how AI can improve delivery efficiency.”
Result: 2 meetings booked. One became a client.
Problem Case 9. Naming a New Product
Problem: I needed a name for a new AI-powered review app.
Prompt used:
“Give me 10 unique brand names for a SaaS tool that turns customer reviews into marketing gold.”
That’s how “Review to Revenue” was born.
Problem Case 10. Feeling Overwhelmed
Problem: I had 6 competing projects, zero clarity.
Prompt used:
“You’re my executive coach. Help me prioritise these 6 projects by impact, effort, and alignment with my long-term goals.”
That prompt saved me from burnout more than once.
The Key Is Not Just the Tool—But the Prompt
You don’t need 10 tools.
You need 1 powerful tool and the right questions.
That’s why I focus so much on prompt engineering — it’s the interface between human intent and AI power.
