Hey DEV community! π
I just launched Flowova β an AI flowchart generator that accepts anything as input. Text, images, PDFs, Word docs, PowerPoint, even photos of whiteboard sketches.
The idea: Drop anything, get flowcharts
Most flowchart tools start with a blank canvas. Flowova starts with whatever you already have:
- π Text β Describe your process naturally
- πΌοΈ Images β Screenshots, photos, existing diagrams
- π PDF β Documentation, specs, reports
- π Word / PPT / Excel β Your existing files
- π Mix them β Upload multiple files at once
The AI reads everything, understands the context, and generates a structured flowchart.
Why I built this
I kept running into the same problem: I'd have a process documented somewhere β in a PDF spec, a Word doc, a screenshot from a meeting β and I needed to turn it into a proper flowchart.
The old way: Read the doc β Open diagramming tool β Manually recreate everything β 30+ minutes gone.
Now: Drop the file β Done.

Mermaid round-trip support
This was a must-have for me:
flowchart TD
A[Start] --> B{Decision}
B -->|Yes| C[Action 1]
B -->|No| D[Action 2]
- Import existing Mermaid code
- Edit visually with drag-and-drop
- Export back to Mermaid
Paste directly into GitHub README, Notion, GitLab wikis, or any Markdown file.
Full visual editor
Not just AI-generated output β you get a real editor:
- 18+ shapes (rectangles, diamonds, parallelograms, etc.)
- 5 edge styles
- One-click auto layout
- Frames & grouping
- Keyboard shortcuts that actually work
40+ themes
Because flowcharts shouldn't look like they're from 2005.

I'd love feedback from the community:
- What input formats would be most useful to add?
- Any features that would make this fit your workflow better?
Thanks for checking it out! π
