Good week ! β
Hi everybody,
I'm Patrick. I've worked as a full-stack LAMP developer for a lot of years and recently stumbled upon dev.to. This strikes me as a really neat community with a lot of fresh ideas. Happy to be here!
Hey everyone!
First things first, I hope all is well with everyone here! Hello to all who has been here a while and hello to all new faces who have recently joined this community like myself (a newbie) :).
My name is Destiny and I'm new to coding. I am changing my career field from working as a city employee for Department of Education and taking initiative to complete a program where I can learn to become a software engineer.
I am currently enrolled as a student and let me tell you... my first week of class was... INTENSE. It's a lot of information to process, but I'm rocking it out and enjoying it!
One thing I can say that I've learned since starting my program is to know when to take a break, come back, and try again, or ask for help from instructors/peers!
I find it amazing how sometimes we can easily overthink what should be in your code and end up getting stuck. Yet, the whole time its something so simply put lol.
I look forward to learning from everyone here!
Hello everyone,
I am a front-end developer with one year experience using Vue. I love people are willing to help, and I hope everyone who devotes to programming will eventually get a better life.
Yesterday I created my first post about some useful shortcuts when editing text. I plan to write more on this topic in the future. Check it out if you are interested in.
Hi All,
I am a growth lead who helps coordinate our grants program which right now includes a developer application contest with 50K in rewards and our bug bounty that has tiered rewards for the magnitude of the submission.
I guess I am curious to know if this is a safe space to share some of our opportunities for developers?

Hi all :)
Looking forward to seeing what I can learn from all you lot...
A bit about me: I'm heading into senior (aka greybeard) territory, having started out in this IT lark nearly 25 years ago. And that's not counting my first steps with a Vic20, then BBC basic, VAX Basic and Fortran at university...
Since then I've been mainly doing enterprise stuff: public admin, large health companies, banks, that kind of thing. Most of it's been Java, but for the past 5-6 years I've moved into BPM/low code stuff with Tibco and Appian. And TBH I'm not a fan, I'd love to get back to proper programming.
I'll just try and ignore the 10 years or so I got stuck in a management role, not something I want to repeat!
