The Alt-Tab Problem for Calculations
Every time I needed to calculate something while browsing — currency conversion, discount percentages, unit conversion — I would alt-tab to the system calculator, do the math, alt-tab back.
For simple calculations, that is overkill.
Quick Calculator
Quick Calculator is a Firefox extension that opens a calculator and unit converter in your toolbar popup.
Features:
- Standard calculator functions
- Unit conversions: length, weight, temperature, currency
- History of recent calculations
- Works offline, no external calls

Why Not Just Type Into Google?
You can type "100 USD in EUR" into Google. But that requires opening a new tab, typing, reading, closing. Quick Calculator keeps you on your current page. Open popup, calculate, close popup.
Who It Is For
- Remote workers checking foreign currency prices
- Developers doing quick math on data sizes
- Students doing homework without switching apps
- Anyone doing 5+ small calculations a day while browsing
Free on Firefox Add-Ons. No account required.
