Software Dev Diary #10 - Progress Report

Day's over. Reporting.

Tech

  • First introduction to WordPress. Learned how to import and customise new themes and to install and use plugins.
  • Completed three Python challenges on Exercism. Reviewed features and methods of strings and lists. Overall, good practice in problem solving and breaking down of a problem.
  • Mentored six students on (https://exercism.org/). Got one testimonial (positive). Have received a total of five so far, all good words.. I've mentored a lot more students in total, but the sessions are not counted until they acknowledge feedback and terminate them. Some submit requests for mentoring but then forget about them, which is frustrating, considering I put a lot of time and effort into giving proper feedback.
  • Progress through my Project+ exam book. Reading between five to ten pages a day. It might not sound like much, but days are busy and this is all I can achieve currently.

Lifestyle

  • Cardio day. Offset by few carbs too many, but I tend to rebalance over the week.
  • About 5K steps. Extremely hot day, so I didn't spend too much time outdoors.

Over.
