CSS has a new logo (and new features)! πŸŽ‰

CSS just got a new logo. It's colored rebeccapurple, a special color with a story that you might not know about.

The Tale of rebeccapurple

The name rebeccapurple represents a sad story in the web development community. The color (#663399) was added to the CSS color palette in 2014 as a tribute to Rebecca Meyer, the six-year-old daughter of renowned web developer Eric Meyer, who tragically passed away from brain cancer.

During her short life, Rebecca had a love for purple, and after her passing, the idea to immortalize her in CSS gained popularity in the web community. It began as a suggestion on social media and quickly gained traction, leading to its formal adoption in the CSS Color Module Level 4. As Eric Meyer himself expressed, it was a bitter-sweet gesture, one that ensured Rebecca's memory would be interwoven with the web's foundation.

CSS's New Logo

Fast-forward to today, and CSS has unveiled a modernized logo. The power of CSS has grown from simple styling to complex layouts, animations, and interactivity. Its sleek design embodies the forward-thinking nature of CSS, reflecting its capability to create immersive web experiences. The rebranding highlights CSS's role in web development and positions it as a future-ready technology. Now, Rebecca is honored even in the CSS logo.

First I thought that logo just looks ugly, but I guess it makes a bit of sense since CSS is used to change the border-radius.
well... anyways, not a logo I'm gonna see often πŸ˜‚
