Remembering its Past self to current self... the Naivete is strong

  • What are these "global" variables you keep talking about? (using only global variables)
  • What do you mean I can't keep the state of app in an int and just have a very large if/else if/.../end statement?
  • Dude you make BORING software... and why aren't you rich yet?
  • You left the pure ways of MacOS7! Heretic!
  • Why would anyone use ANYTHING except 3rd normal form?
  • Singletons? Wow those are awesome! I'm sure we're using them everywhere!

Paleolithic Ben: but where are all your games? Haven't you written anything?
Me: I've been a part of a lot of really big projects
PB: but you haven't made anything? How do I turn out to be such a failure?
Me: Hey! Adjust your attitude, junior.

Past Self: "We had open source software in the mid-to-late-80s to very-early-90s too: type-in programs in magazines like Compute! among others."

I think Compute! stopped printing type-in programs before 80s were over but there were some others that went into early 90s.

"Wow, programming is very hard. But making ASCII art is pretty cool!"

"I still don't understand pointers in C that well."

"My projects might not work as they should but at least they have an awesome user interface."

Ctrl+Z to the Past Time-Travelling to Your First Code Line is like embarking on a nostalgic journey to the origins of your programming adventure. Just as a time traveler explores history, you delve into the code that started it all. It's akin to revisiting the Oriente Station in Lisbon lisbongo.com/oriente-station-lisbon/ a place where every detail holds memories. Your first code line is a milestone, and Ctrl+Z lets you relive those initial steps, appreciating how far you've come since that humble beginning.
