In December, we announced a new challenge on DEV, in partnership with our friends at DigitalOcean: the App Platform Hackathon.
Our intrepid Hackathon participants were challenged to build brand new apps using DigitalOcean’s App Platform. DigitalOcean offered them credits in order to leverage their professional tool for free. Submissions were to be filed in one of four categories: Personal Site/Portfolio, Program for the People, Built for Business, and last but certainly not least, Random Roulette.
The process of picking just one grand prize winner for each category and 10 total runners-up was difficult, to say the least. But somehow, the judging panels at DEV and DigitalOcean managed to narrow in on some truly standout projects. We’re thrilled to share them with you today!

All participants with a valid project will receive a DEV Sticker Pack and an “App Platform Hackathon” participant profile badge. 🎉
To everyone who submitted a project for this hackathon, you should be super proud of yourselves. In the process of building your app, you’ve contributed to the DigitalOcean App Platform library and gained new experience with a professional tool.
The DigitalOcean team will follow up with each winner via email about their prizes, and the DEV team will do the same within two weeks.

This was such a wonderful experience as I got a chance to execute my idea, try and learn new things!

It was an amazing experience, and not to mention this is my 1st hackathon on the #DEV Community. I got to learn so many things while we (I along with my teammate) were working on this. Explored so many new ideas on this platform!
