welcome gabe!
Hi everyone!
Welcome to the dev.to-community!
I'm Martin, and I worked as a Senior Front End Architect and Engineering Manager at one of the world's largest digital agencies, where I led Front End Teams for international projects. After 15 years, I quit my job. Now I travel the world as a professional scuba diver, and work as a freelance Front End Tech Lead and technical Recruiter for international clients. Besides that, I write about technology.
My latest book about Modern Full Stack development will be published in October by No Stach Press. It's an easy, hands-on introduction to creating web applications with Next.js, MongoDB and Mongoose (there's currently a 25% Discount!). You can read more about how to become a published author in my upcoming article about writing books.
On dev.to I'm publishing a weekly periodical, the "WebDevDigest: A curated list of the top five web development must-reads from last week", which keeps you up to date on current web development trends and "LevelUp: Elevate your Career Today" where I give Career and Interview advice based on my experience as Engineering Manager and Technical Recruiter.
If I have enough time, I write more in-depth articles, for example how to create multi-language pages with next export, which is on GitHub:next-export-i18n and npmjs: next-export-i18n
I recommend following the general tags webdev, vscode , career and productivity and javascript, react, CSS. Head over to your Dashboard and adjust the tag weight to personalize your home feed.
Here's a list of articles to start your journey as a successful developer and a great writer:
If you are looking for your next job, I highly recommend buying the Book De-Coding the Technical Interview Process by Emma Bostian. It is hands down the best preparation for every technical interview.

Hi Martin, thanks for the space. I'm curious, what do you do on your travels as a professional scuba diver?

It's my pleasure to be here ,I joined alx 5months back but faced alot of challenges with setting up my tools, which later I solved personally. As we advanced from c to python I again lost my $path, which I took to myself as an individual challenge, not because there is no one to help, but I just wanted to explore everything by myself such that understand how python is excuted and how to solve all bugs related to error codes and now finally I have managed to get to this community,I look forward for collaborative and teamwork to take me to the next level.
I just veered into Tech a few months ago. I thought it wise to keep abreast with happenings in the world in order to overcome redundancy after retirement. To be precise, I am learning Cloud computing to become a solution architect. I need help, from every one of you, in the community. I know there is no age in learning.
I am glad to be here.

Bonjour, mĂȘme objectif.
Hello, my name is Benjamin and my nickname is benlad or devben , and I'm a front-end developer /Mobile developer with two years of experience. I'm passionate about creating beautiful and functional websites and applications that provide a great user experience.
In my current role, I'm responsible for developing and maintaining the front-end of several web applications. I work closely with the design team to ensure that our web pages are visually appealing and easy to use, and I collaborate with the back-end team to ensure that our applications are efficient and performant.
I'm experienced in using a variety of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, and I'm constantly learning and staying up to date with the latest tools and trends in the industry. I'm also familiar with several front-end frameworks, such as Bootstrap and Materialize, and I have experience working with CMS platforms like WordPress and Shopify.
One of the things that I enjoy most about front-end development is the opportunity to solve problems and find creative solutions to design challenges. I'm always looking for ways to improve the user experience and make our applications more accessible and user-friendly.
In my free time, I enjoy working on personal projects and experimenting with new technologies. I also enjoy attending tech meetups and conferences, where I can network with other developers and learn from their experiences.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about me and my experience as a front-end developer. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and contribute to your team.
