I just got an email inviting me to join a new dev community. They said that they had seen my posts on dev.to, and thought I would be a good fit. I don't want to go into too much detail, but they did send it to my personal email, which I have never revealed publicly. Did anyone else get this?

I got a similar email to the one that you're describing, did the one you got look like this:
Mine was from Marco at coderslegion
Mine was from ross. HOWEVER mine was from coderlegions (s at the end.)
coderlegions.com is a GoDaddy Parked domain, but that is word for word what mine said.
Ok, now I'm EVEN MORE confused (if that was even possible) because the actual programmers network was coderlegion???
Okay so let me break it down:
s.com is the scam I got sentslegion.com is the scam you got sent.The scammers are putting "s" in places to impersonate the real address.
Does this make sense? (please tell me it does...)

They got back to me, those are legit emails, they alternate between them to make sure that google does not flag it as spam.
Uhhhh... that seems really sus. I don't buy that. HOWEVER, coderlegion.com does seem newer.

I re-published my post just to test it out.
Some (clearly) AI-bot then commented to my post.
I won't bother with those guys anymore.

This is exactly why forget me needs to be normal, not a special request.
If a product stores identity links (accounts, profiles, history), users deserve a clear way to remove them without feeling like they’re begging.

I checked it out. It is a legit site - they're just hustling traffic to the site.
I'd check out their traffic analytics to see if its justified making articles there.
