Good morning, afternoon, or evening everyone! Hope you guys are doing well!
If you haven't known me as much or have seen me time to time, I think it's appropriate to introduce myself properly. As promised on previous welcome threads and made a promise to @javz, here it is!
To start, my name is Francis and I am currently a Graduate Student in the Software Engineering Program graduating this year. I have been on a developer journey since 2020 and worked professionally for 4 years in specialization in Salesforce Administrator. I also play a role as a Senior Full-Stack Developer in the tech space for CALEC and contributing to Forem (OSS that powers dev.to!)
I started my journey at dev.to since Jan 2026 like everyone else. I didn't get a head start in anything, nor I have enough connections to do so. I started on DEV with the intention to put myself out there and blog to the rest of the world. Being in this journey for 10 months now, I have not only met new people like @itsugo, @javz, @ben, @jess, @heyitsjem and so on, but I became more confident in my skills while also sharing my thoughts on DEV!
My advice to anyone in DEV is to not be afraid to meet new people. Don't isolate yourself by just posting. Start commenting and meet new people on DEV! Connections will grow overtime and you will find people who are like you!
On my free time, I like to play video games, hoping to get myself a PC one day :)
I am planning on fleshing out my journey on my One-Year anniversary on DEV. For those who are interested, mark your calendar on Jan 14, 2027!

Thank you for joining this community and we are glad you decide to come! Question for all of you is: Why did you join DEV? Any plans for 2027?
Nice one Francis!
Congrats on all your achievements and contributions since joining DEV.
It has been a fun ride so far and I am looking forward to our future contributions!
ps: what video game are you currently
playing? I got into Slay the Spire recently and it has been really fun to play.

WELCOME
Hello! My name is Peter, and I’m hanging out here more and more often because the company is great. This is such a positive international developer community!
Over the past seven years, my articles have kept piling up here, and I wasn’t quite sure how to present them in a way that made sense. So I asked the Know-It-All to find the connections and put them into an interactive mind-map app. It turned out so well that I use it regularly. It’s a nice addition to my one-line CV too, and the most fun feature is the timeline.
Most of the programs I make are open source, so if you’d like to join in and help develop any of them further, feel free to reach out!

I'm Xiaolei, a computer science researcher working on software security, software verification, and trustworthy AI. Happy to be part of the DEV community!
I recently shared a short post about an interesting question: Who checks the tests when an AI agent rewrites the code?
🔗 dev.to/xiaoleiren/who-checks-the-t...
It includes a small, reproducible Python demo showing how tests can stay green even when a critical security check disappears.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and learn how others approach this problem in real projects.
Looking forward to connecting, sharing ideas, and learning from everyone here! 😊

Hey DEV! 👋
I’m Benedict, a design evaluation engineer at Analog Devices in North Carolina. I usually debug high-speed chips. One Saturday, I traded my oscilloscope for a browser tab and helped build an app about food pantries.
My team started with a simple question: If I needed groceries today, how would I know where to go and what to bring? That became FoodBridge Triangle, a prototype that helps people find local food assistance and plan a visit. It won first place at Hack for Humanity in Raleigh, and writing up what we built brought me to DEV. 🏆
I’m here to get better at building web apps and swap notes with people using AI to solve everyday problems. If you’ve ever wandered outside your usual tech stack for a weekend project, I’d love to hear what you built.
If FoodBridge sounds interesting, I’d love to hear what you’d add to make it more useful for someone visiting a food pantry for the first time. And if you enjoyed the build story, a ❤️ is always appreciated!
Here’s the FoodBridge story and 90-second demo
