Oh hi there! This has been a long time coming, and I'm so happy to be on here. I'm thiiiiis close to graduating from Flatiron and starting the next chapter of continued learning and job hunting. Looking forward to contributing my newbie thoughts here and reading what others have to say!
Congrats on graduating Flatiron! What was your experience like there?
Hi Aaron! Thanks so much, and thanks for asking! It was a whirlwind - went by so quickly, learned way more than I thought possible, and now I have a solid foundation of Ruby, JavaScript and quite a few frameworks. There will ALWAYS be more to learn, but Flatiron really set me up for success. If you have more q's, always happy to chat further - let me know!
For sure! Thinking about something like that in the future. I will message you.
Actually I cannot chat you on here - not sure why. Anyways was wondering what got you interested in Flatiron and how you made it happen.
I was wondering! I thought, wow I had no idea we could dm here :) I just followed you on Twitter, so once we're following each other, we can dm there! So happy to share more about Flatiron and hear what you're up to!

Hi here, I'm Mohamed I'm new here I like the developer job, but i know almost nothing about it, actually I'm beginning with html and css. Please someone can help me and advise. Thanks ☺️
My advice: don’t do it, run away!
No seriously, go for it and take it step by step.
My first advice based on 25 years in software development: technology is cool, but before adopting a technology or writing a piece of software, first think of what your customer needs. We technology driven software developers tend to over complicate things by our addiction to ‘new stuff’.
Thanks:)
We are in the same boat. I think you might be better than me. I am just learning on my own and never went to school for this. Please let me have the few ideas that you have and so I can learn too.
Hi, how are u?
U can start with HTML and CSS like me, it is a good way to start.I will give a link of a website, you can start learn there HTML and CSS

Hi here, I'm Mohamed I'm new here I like the developer job, but i know almost nothing about it, actually I'm beginning with html and css. Please someone can help me and advise. Thanks ☺️
Hi Mohamed! Welcome to DEV :)
Starting with html and css is a great way to get started - just start making things that you like! You can find a whole bunch of tutorials online you can follow, but I would also give yourself time to just play around and explore what you can do.
Once you feel a little bit confident with basic html and css, you can start looking at javascript, which allows your websites to become more interactive.
If you want to try out some online code "playgrounds" you can check out codepen.io or codesandbox.io - which both have some great templates and a neat online environment for playing around.
Good luck!
Thanks very much
Please, do you want to give me some advice on how to progress and be good in HTML and CSS?
My best advice is to find some project that you're passionate about and try to make it happen! Pretty soon you'll want to do something but won't know how, so google for that and find that answer. Then keep going until you hit another roadblock, and google for that answer :)
It can be super frustrating while you're doing it - but eventually you'll have to start googling less and less, and then you can move on to more advanced challenges!
So the best advice I have is: know that it's going to be hard, but keep building little interesting projects anyway :)
Thanks u again :). And can I ask u when need advices sometimes?
I am a CS student. And a beginner actually. I am working on Web Development and Deep Learning projects.
I am here because I don't have anyone to help me or guide me through out the learning path. I hope this community will help How can I ask a question ?
I was self taught as well, and came to data science from hard work at mechanical engineering job.
Keep practicing!!!
Hey all!

Howdy everyone, I'm pretty new to coding! I work full-time in the IT field, but I have dreams of developing some really cool software. I'm focusing on web development first, because it seems the easiest way to deliver small useful little applications.
I post a lot of my progress on my twitter, but eventually I hope to write some cool articles on here!
The web is such a fantastic place to easily deploy thing that you can share with others.

Hello DEV,
I am deviprasad, people call's me devi...by profession am into QA/QE with more emphasis on technical aspects of QA/QE and automation.
found taiko review on the portal, so landed here....trying to get more info taiko tool.
Well I am now 5-6 years into the game, currently sitting at home waiting to be able to graduate.
I just found out about this website here and it looks amazing, I really like the boldness and the contrast.
I currently work in NodeJS a lot, but I have learnt to choose the language used based on what I want to do. I have used quite many programming languages and frameworks in the last 5 years so I feel very confident in what I do.
During COVID time, I have built 3 webpages (2 dashboards and 1 newsletter) and I am working on the NovelCOVID Open-Source API which now has served more than 2,000,000,000 requests sending more than 10TB of data.
Let's have a great time!
Hi all! I am trying to learn AIML and for that I'm the python and ML and DP specialization. Along with that, I am also learning CPP inorder to understand the DSA and the Time and Space complexity. Hope to get along with you all!!!

Hello everyone, I am Rohail Abrahani a Digital Marketing Executive. I like to write about WordPress plugins, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. I would like to know that am I allowed to write a post @dev.to? I don’t have a Github account.
Thanks in advance.
hello, I'm a self-taught developer, technology has always been my passion but I somehow always dabble in and out, because of how challenging I found learning to code, anyways I've decided to stick to it this time for the long term. I'm hoping to interact a lot more with the community and share my experiences as I go along, feel free to share your thoughts and comments.
Hey everyone,

Hi all! I’m just a few months into self teaching and there is SO much left to go, but I’m so excited to see the coding community supporting all the newbies like me. I’m originally a printmaker/visual artist so I’m really looking forward to applying that kind of creativity to my code and am leaning towards front end development for that reason. I’ve completed Colt Steele’s Web Developer Bootcamp and now I’m focusing on diving deeper into HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and introducing React.
Hi everybody! I'm Matt from BitLeaf.io. 🍃
Like everyone here I've enjoyed reading all the wonderful things people have been sharing. I'm finally getting around to doing the same. I've been in the development game for quite a number of years. I'll post a mix of programming and devopsy stuff. I really hope I can help some folks out even if it's just a little bit.
Prosit! 🍻
Hej ! My name is Pascal - you can call me Pasi ! I don't remember how exactly I found this DEV community, but I'm glad I did.
I started to actively self-learn and use code about 4 years ago when it finally made 'click' , during a job I started at back then (Fair to say I already collected lots of experience with HTML/CSS and yes, ActionScript, when I was ... 13 ? - but haven't started to actively "learn" how to code).
A year ago I was offered a new position within the same company which would involve mostly "code" and gave me the freedom to continue learning and using what I am interested in. My position now pivots on 'data automation' , 'software dev' and 'live graphics' in the area of live media/broadcast and streaming.
Currently I am learning C++ since one of my biggest dreams is to create my own video game. Hopefully this community can continue to motivate me on doing so.
Great to meet you everyone !
Cheers
Hey there everyone. My name is Amit and I'm a full stack developer and a deep learning practitioner. My primary aim here is to share my knowledge and learn from all of you. This is going to be a fun ride 😁

Hello. I have used this site quite a bit, so I thought it was about time I joined and started to contribute. I'm a C# developer with a passion for all things Azure and DevOps. Although I am a developer during my day job, I'm normally developing in my spare time as well as trying out different things with serverless such as Azure Functions.
Looking forward to getting involved more and to hopefully post some useful stuff.
Hi everyone!
I'm Gustavo and I'm from Brazil.
I always loved computer science but never had the chance to study it. Fun fact: for some reason I thought that would be fun coursing chemical engineering, so that's what I'm doing right now. But the thing is: I hate chemical engineering lol
So last year I decided to do what I love and start to learn programming languages and almost a year later, here I am. I'm currently working as a full-stack javascript developer at Fluke, a telecom startup from my city.
I love to learn new technologies and joined dev.to to write an article about a new framework that I just learned. Looking forward to continue contributing to the community with new cool stuff and learn with you!
Heyaaa! This site is really good. I find related content to my subscribed #tags. This site would be my weekend learning :-) I am good in server(Java🍵 backend), serverless(AWS⛅) technologies and Angular in frontend. I am exploring React with Firebase🔥
Hello World! I've been working as a life insurance agent for the last 2 years but I have been playing with code for the last 20. With all of the extra time on my hands I have been doing Udemy lessons and freecodecamp.org for HTML, CSS, and currently JavaScript.
Can't wait to see what I can do once I get the hang of all of this, but I feel pretty stable in my HTML & CSS basics. Who knows what the future holds, but I hope to be able to move down a development path as I build my skills through online learning and practice.
Hey, I am a high school student learning Rust right now.
