Oh hi there! This has been a long time coming, and I'm so happy to be on here. I'm thiiiiis close to graduating from Flatiron and starting the next chapter of continued learning and job hunting. Looking forward to contributing my newbie thoughts here and reading what others have to say!
Congrats on graduating Flatiron! What was your experience like there?
Hi Aaron! Thanks so much, and thanks for asking! It was a whirlwind - went by so quickly, learned way more than I thought possible, and now I have a solid foundation of Ruby, JavaScript and quite a few frameworks. There will ALWAYS be more to learn, but Flatiron really set me up for success. If you have more q's, always happy to chat further - let me know!
For sure! Thinking about something like that in the future. I will message you.
Actually I cannot chat you on here - not sure why. Anyways was wondering what got you interested in Flatiron and how you made it happen.
I was wondering! I thought, wow I had no idea we could dm here :) I just followed you on Twitter, so once we're following each other, we can dm there! So happy to share more about Flatiron and hear what you're up to!
Wow congratulations!
Thank you, thank you!
How did you start and what's your advice to me. M new to front end web Dev. M currently practicing HTML and wish to become a professional developer for both Mobile Apps and websites.Haven't been to any educational institution for this.
Hi Travis! Sounds like you're doing the right thing - practicing. Exactly how I started, too. I dabbled with freeCodeCamp to make sure I enjoyed learning to code, and from there, pursued formal education to keep myself focused and honest. Here's hoping you continue practicing and learning!
Welcome to DEV!
Ha ha, thank you so much!

Hi here, I'm Mohamed I'm new here I like the developer job, but i know almost nothing about it, actually I'm beginning with html and css. Please someone can help me and advise. Thanks ☺️
My advice: don’t do it, run away!
No seriously, go for it and take it step by step.
My first advice based on 25 years in software development: technology is cool, but before adopting a technology or writing a piece of software, first think of what your customer needs. We technology driven software developers tend to over complicate things by our addiction to ‘new stuff’.
Thanks:)
We are in the same boat. I think you might be better than me. I am just learning on my own and never went to school for this. Please let me have the few ideas that you have and so I can learn too.
Hi, how are u?
U can start with HTML and CSS like me, it is a good way to start.I will give a link of a website, you can start learn there HTML and CSS
U can follow this courses to start. After your free online course finished you can try to install a text editor on your computer. After my course online I did that and now too I still learning HTML and CSS by watching videos on YouTube. You can start by learning in the website first after that u can watch videos on YouTube u will understand well because videos because u already finished with the website courses. U can watch tutorial videos on YouTube and follow ur courses the same time if u want.

Have a mini project in mind, choose which programming language you want to build that project on and learn the aspects that are required to build that project. You will learn by building. Good luck!
Thanks for your advices :)😊
Hi Mohamed, you do not need to know a lot to get started. What you actually need is patience and time. I bet you, you gonna make it to the top. Keep the same energy too
Thanks :)

Hi here, I'm Mohamed I'm new here I like the developer job, but i know almost nothing about it, actually I'm beginning with html and css. Please someone can help me and advise. Thanks ☺️
Hi Mohamed! Welcome to DEV :)
Starting with html and css is a great way to get started - just start making things that you like! You can find a whole bunch of tutorials online you can follow, but I would also give yourself time to just play around and explore what you can do.
Once you feel a little bit confident with basic html and css, you can start looking at javascript, which allows your websites to become more interactive.
If you want to try out some online code "playgrounds" you can check out codepen.io or codesandbox.io - which both have some great templates and a neat online environment for playing around.
Good luck!
Thanks very much
Please, do you want to give me some advice on how to progress and be good in HTML and CSS?
My best advice is to find some project that you're passionate about and try to make it happen! Pretty soon you'll want to do something but won't know how, so google for that and find that answer. Then keep going until you hit another roadblock, and google for that answer :)
It can be super frustrating while you're doing it - but eventually you'll have to start googling less and less, and then you can move on to more advanced challenges!
So the best advice I have is: know that it's going to be hard, but keep building little interesting projects anyway :)
Thanks u again :). And can I ask u when need advices sometimes?
Sure, go for it :) good luck!
Thanks:)
Keep practicing!
Also there are many services that help you easily deploy html/css for free. Get something out that you can share with others.
Thanks 😊
