I realised that my happiness was too tied to the internet and to other people, so I went outside and tried to find happiness. I looked for every colour of the rainbow in the parks / fields around me and saw the largest, fluffiest dog I have ever seen.
My happiness may not be as tied to the internet anymore, but oh my is it tied to big giant fluffy dogs!
WOW I love this comment. This sounds like such an amazing mindfulness exercise. I'm going to try it!
And yes... fluffy dogs are my mental health medication. Well, that and my actual mental health medication π
Received this awesome sweatshirt that I bought from the shop.dev.to. I am loving it :)
Hah love it! That's such a good one :)
Looks awesome, whoever designed it is genius π₯π₯ Haha, btw has anyone ever noted how much you remind them of Hitesh Choudhary? ππ
You're the first one to say that... now I think I have to ask my friends π
Not dev related: Advocated for my cat to get the care he needed at the vet hospital. They act like I'm paranoid up until they do an ultrasound and take him back to get prepped for surgery >.> Now I have a groggy cat laying next to me who gets bed rest and pain meds for the next two weeks
Dev related: Actually kept up with work this week while running on little to no sleep due to all that happening on Sunday/Monday :o
Hope your cat feels better soon !
Thanks! He's doing really well, just restless since he's not allowed to jump and play like he wants to.
I hope your kitty heals up soon! They are lucky to have such a caring owner!

1) This week i won the T-shirt from Daily.dev and in the same week I received the shipment code of the Hacktoberfest t-shirt, from DigitalOcean.
2) For improving my JavaScript (pure) skills i built Etch a BitSketch:
casiimir.github.io/TheOdinProject-...
π
This was my best result: github.com/casiimir/TheOdinProject...
PS. thank you for this post, I was really looking for something like that xD
It has been a super exciting week! I've enrolled in the DEV + DigitalOcean Hackaton and already submitted my project π

NIce!!
Awesome
Launched my new portfolio π studio.icvn.tech
Managed to overcome a lot... and I mean A LOT of errors and bugs in my DO Hackaton submission project. I am amazed at how much weight the sentence 'leave it for a couple of hours' has for successful programming. I also bought a new pair of winter socks π₯π§¦.
Got 11k+ total post views in dev.to!
I was always scared to put my thoughts out there so starting blogging on here was a win π€ and landing an interview at a place that I REALLY want to work at! π Hoping that I make it to the next round!
Other than the sudden relief of lots of poorly-planned deadlines removed and finally getting it off my chest, it doesn't feel like much of a win yet but it will be in the long run:
Finally telling a startup CEO, who dragged his feet on an equity agreement for over a month (which I should have made more noise about early on instead of being so head down trying to adjust my schedule for said deadlines) and who is going to have an impossible task explaining to investors what two of the co-founders on his cap table actually do, to F right off after weeks of micromanagement and lack of consideration for other things going on in my life.
The project I've been working on, a sign that turns on when starting streaming and off again when finished, is complete! Or at least version 1 of it is. I've started on version 2 a little, but want to finish a post about the initial build and code first.
Plus I'm now on leave until the new year, so time to relax.
I learned how we can extand vue next and how we can create and test in local a package (and push it to npm)
Created a post on dev.to about it ^^
And get Access to mod center on dev.to
Great week :D

After discovering some performance issues, I presented my findings to the team. Mostly around image compression, it was nice to delve back into an aspect of web development I havenβt looked at professionally for a few years and pass on that knowledge. Not only will the team be better placed to optimise but our customers will get a nice speed boost too!
Excited to see how they take that information on board and apply it to old and new projects.
My first class as a lead instructor graduates today. They did quite well and I'm very proud of them.
