KiTS19: 300 Kidney Tumor CT Scans, Segmentation Masks and Surgery Results

This is a new, open set of CT images from 300 patients who had kidney tumors, shared to help people study how tumors look and behave.
The collection pairs the scans with hand-drawn segmentation masks that mark kidneys and tumors, plus real-world surgical outcomes so you can link what the pictures show to what happened to patients.
210 cases were made public for a 2019 challenge, and more info from 2010–2018 is included behind the scenes.
The goal is simple: give doctors, students and hobby coders a place to test tools that read images automatically.
It makes it easier to find new clues, or biomarkers, that might predict recovery or risk.
The files are not scary, they are meant to be useful and shared.
If you like medical images, or want to try building a project that helps patients, this dataset is a clear starting point.
It's open, practical, and ready to explore — some work still needed to make new findings, but the path is open.
