1. Open Claude’s Chat Interface

Claude will process and package your current instructions into a skill. You’ll see a confirmation message once it’s complete.

4. Name and Save Your Skill

Claude will ask you to name your new skill.

1. Choose a clear, memorable name (no spaces or special characters helps).
2. Confirm by clicking “Save” or sending the name back to Claude.

Now your skill is stored in Claude’s skill library.

5. Load Your Skill in Future Chats

Whenever you start a new conversation and want to use your saved instructions:

1. Open a fresh chat window.
2. Type the slash command:

/skill-creator

1. Select your saved skill from the dropdown list.

Claude will automatically insert your full instruction set, so you don’t have to rewrite it each time.

Common mistakes

• Forgetting the leading slash. Always start with /skill-creator, not skill-creator.
• Using spaces or special characters in skill names. Stick to letters and numbers.
• Trying to modify the skill in the new chat. Skills are fixed; edit them in the original chat only.
• Skipping the confirmation step when saving the skill. Wait for Claude to confirm.
