Cost: 10% per sale, no monthly fee. On a $17 sale, Gumroad keeps $1.70.
Honest verdict: Fastest path from file to purchasable link. Discovery is weak — you drive your own traffic (dev.to posts, your landing page). Non-negotiable for the first product.
2. Stripe — payouts that don't match Gumroad gross
What it is: Payment processor for direct sales, subscriptions, and Gumroad payout deposits.
Cost: Per-transaction fee, no monthly fee. You pay nothing until you earn.
Honest verdict: Solo sellers export two CSVs at quarter-end: Gumroad customers export + Stripe payments export. The numbers never line up without a ledger layer.
3. SellerLedger ($17) — or a EUR 9 CSV ledger CLI
