Hassop Hall weddings: the rooms, the gardens, the light, and what to budget for a 2026 Peak District wedding at this classic Derbyshire venue.

Hassop Hall is the Peak District wedding venue couples book when they want a 'classic' Peak District wedding. Manicured gardens, a 400-year-old manor house, on-site accommodation for 40+, and one of the most-photographed wedding gardens in the East Midlands. Here is the photographer's walk-through.

The four ceremony spaces — and which to choose

Hassop Hall has four licensed ceremony spaces: the Library (intimate, up to 30), the Drawing Room (medium, up to 60), the Hall (largest, up to 130), and the Garden Pavilion (outdoor, up to 100, only available May-September). Most couples pick the Drawing Room for the intimacy or the Garden Pavilion for the views.

The garden — the venue's biggest asset

The garden at Hassop Hall is genuinely beautiful, and one of the most-photographed wedding gardens in the East Midlands. The south-facing lawn is best for the late-afternoon light. The walled garden (tucked behind the main house) is the most-photographed single feature. The gatehouse is the most-photographed single building.

The Peak District on the doorstep

Hassop is in the heart of the Peak District, between Bakewell and Chatsworth. A 20-minute walk from the venue brings you to the Monsal Trail. A 10-minute drive brings you to Chatsworth House. A 30-minute drive brings you to Hathersage, Curbar Edge, and the gritstone of the eastern Peak District.

On-site accommodation

40+ on-site rooms, including a bridal suite. Most Hassop Hall weddings involve the couple and their closest family staying on site the night before and the night of, which makes the day significantly less stressful than a venue without on-site rooms.

What to budget for Hassop Hall

2026 prices: £9,000–£14,000 for venue hire, £80–£120 per head for catering (in-house), £2,500–£4,500 for photography. The all-in for a 70-guest Saturday wedding is typically £26,000–£32,000.
