Yet Another Newsletter LOL: IMHO

Another week, another newsletter. Let’s get to it!

Around the Web

Fun Stuff

I don’t want to give anything away, but neal.fun/space-elevator is such a fun site. Check it out!

Words of Wisdom for the Week

Some sound advice for all the speakers and aspiring speakers out there.

“It doesn’t matter if you know everything about something. If you cannot build a good story and connect with your audience, you will fail. Storytelling is a crucial soft skill if you want to be a great speaker.” – Estela Franco on Twitter

And I know that my friend Bekah agrees with this. Check out her keynote from THAT conference about storytelling.

Shameless Plugs

Monday, I gave my talk, “Fresh: a new full stack web framework for Deno”, at Node Congress. I was remote, but it was a lot of fun still. Even though I stream all the time, give talks at meetups, lunch & learns at Virtual Coffee etc., this was my first conference talk!

The video recording isn’t available yet, but you’ll find it here 👇🏻

I also had a tonne of fun hanging with Shruti Kapoor this week. We dug into the <canvas /> element with a fun project drawing and animating particles.

Remember to like and subscribe! 😎

And here’s the Codepen if you want to fork it and have some fun!

And lastly, I’m hanging with my awesome friend BekahHW on a Twitter Space next Tuesday at 2 pm UTC. How can you get ahead if you’re not into content creation when applying for jobs? Tune in to find out!

Jobs

I post jobs in the iamdeveloper.com community, plus all other kinds of content, as do others. If you’re looking for another friendly nook of the internet, head to discord.iamdeveloper.com.

If you liked this newsletter, you can subscribe or if RSS is your jam, you can also subscribe via RSS.
