Hey, welcome as well :)
hello
Welcome, Gabriela!
Welcome
Welcome everybody on Dev.to! I'm a french dev oriented Web, I created most bots on Discord and I updating all my projects.
I learn Ruby and Javascript, i started learn Gatsby last week!
Hi thomas i m new to dev.to and i m learning javascript.
Hi Anis i'm also new to dev.to and i'm equally learning JavaScript
Welcome to you!
Welcome, Thomas.
I'm not new here, I welcome everyone 😛😉
🌿Hello, my name is Weiwei and I'm a newbie coder building a product a month with Javascript and no code tools!
I studied interaction design in college and realized that it's so much more fun if I can build out the design ideas that I have.
Welcome, Weiwei!
Welcome, Weiwei! Awesome idea! I am working on the same things, I started as a developer and am working on learning about interaction design and user experience!
Cool! I'm down to trade skills if you are open to it!
Otherwise, good luck! :)
Awesome! I am always down for a list of articles or books to read. Been reading through
Refactoring UIandSprint: How to Solve Big Problems and Test New Ideas in Just Five Daysfor UX readings. Any other suggestions? What sort of projects are you working on?
I really liked " the best interface is no interface". I think the best way to practice interface design is to make one a day, and try to expand on the interface by making all interfaces for an app/product. For experience design, diagrams are often a good way to map things out. See dubberly.com/articles/using-concep...
I'm working on a series of generators that are web-based. Like upload a photo and change the size of those photos or paragraph generators.
I'm an economist that does and teaches data analysis. I use mainly D, R, and Bash, with some Ruby, Perl and a few others mixed in as needed. I started programming in the 1980s on computers with 1K and 2K of RAM. At last count, I've used over 50 languages, and am a strong believer in functional programming.
Hello, I would love to learn a bit from you. Following :)
Hey all! I'm a full stack developer with over 8 years experience in consulting and working with SaaS based companies.
I work actively with Golang, AWS, GCP, and Typescript and absolutely love my work 😊.
Currently, I'm doing a bit of soul-searching to find a new project to build and profit from.
Hi Stephen! What sort of projects are you looking for? Any top driving interests that you'd like to find a foot hold in?
Preferably SaaS type offerings. I like working with products that help other developers do better at what they already do.
Ah, cool. Feel free to reach out if you're interested in marketplaces, privacy, and data ownership. I'm working on a data marketplace and data collection app that will be a Progressive Web App SaaS offering.
Welcome, Stephen! Let us know when your new project finds you!
Thank you!! I think the inspiration bug has hit me a few times this week 😛
👋
I'm been a web developer for ~12 years now and have been working full-time for 3 years now on my Open Source project Gatsby!
Love open source & web development & company building.
Welcome, I'll have a deeper look at your project, from the first sight it seems interesting!
Happy to hear that.
Welcome folks!
After you introduce yourself here, feel free to drop a comment in this other discussion thread I just created:

I guess I'm here now so...
Who are the best women to follow in this community (in your opinion)? Not trying to get into a battle of the sexes but I've only ever worked with men and damn is it nice to read what my demographic is writing.
@aspittel , @jess , @vaidehijoshi , @kaydacode , @gazebo_c , and @thejessleigh are all really super cool gals! I'd start there.
You should also check out the tag #shecoded
Dawe thanks 💚
Thank you so much!!!!
thank you very much!
Welcome to DEV! I'm attempting to learn Rust and Web Assembly, but have not quite made an effort yet... Also, I've been learning what it's like to build websites for your family. Not super fun, but it's probably a good introduction to building things for others.
Hi guys! I'm Hendrik, I don't code, I write concepts. So I'm interested in various meta-topics rather than concrete programmers work. (But at least I manage to maintain my personal website on self-hosted WP basis…)
Any recommendations for followings?
Hi there!
I'm Kacper, currently living in Gdańsk, Poland. Self-thought programmer, graduated in Civil Engineering.
I'm working fully remotely as a full-stack engineer for the UK based startup. On a daily basis, I'm using React, Typescript, Ruby, and Elixir with a bit of Docker.
Recently, I've decided to resume working on my old side project (datamaps.co, github.com/caspg/datamaps.co). I'm planning to keep a dev log which will document my journey. I hope
dev.tocould be the right place for it.Hello! I'm a Full Stack JS developer.
I love learning all about this universe so much that it's already my hobby :D
I have experience working with Laravel, NodeJS, React Native, Flutter, Angular, Ionic and other things, but I think my intention in this forum is to learn how other developers write their code, what stack they are using, what is the best architecture. for each project ... I have so many questions and I am sure that there are many developers with more experience here than me and maybe can give me advices about React, ReactNative, NodeJS good practices.
So Thanks a lot!

I am a newbie learning C# at university and everything else by myself. I must say that I am pretty lost. I have learned bit of HTML, JS, CSS because I wanted to make beautiful webapps and website, turned out I sucked big time in design. Now I am learning Java to start developing for Android and I hope to find a fried who has better eyes than I do :').
Hi,
I'm cath, a backend developer using PHP/ Laravel from Philippines. I have also started learning Python and Javascript just recently. Hope to learn something here and share as well. Nice to meet you all.
Nice to meet you too Cath! Welcome to DEV :)
Thank you :)
I'm Marvin,a newbie. I've been reading a couple of articles from dev.to and I've fallen for it. I do python scripting,a little of bash and I've gotten my way around some python for Data analysis. I'm excited to be here and look forward to interacting with these ever interesting minds as the posts I've read have proven. This is going to be cool.
I'm BlueFox, from Brazil living in Montreal, Canada.
I am a software engineer at Bombardier with Java, Scala, some Python, Angular, React, Docker, and microservice stuff. I'm having fun learning other stuff like Blockchain, Machine Learning, etc.

Have a great day too Zack!
Hi all! 👋 I'm Flor from Argentina. I've been working as an Applications Support Analyst my whole professional career and I started to learn to code a few months ago as I'm willing to change my career path. I'm also interested in UX and UI design. Nice to meet you all 😊
Great to have you Florencia!
Hey y'all! Cheers from Texas! 👋 I'm a student at Launch School studying to be a Software Engineer. Right now I'm learning Ruby, then we'll move on to back-end development things and then to HTML/CSS, etc. I want to learn as much as I can outside of that too! The dev community has been lovely so far so I'm glad to be here 😁
Hi! I’m Steven, computer science student from Montreal. I’m passionate about web application development. Currently playing around with Node and React. Worked at a startup and a government organization both on web development. Hope to gain some cool insight from the people on here and hopefully meet some interesting people :)

Hi everyone! I'm a front-end developer & ui/ux designer from New Jersey, USA.
I love creating interfaces in Sketch / InVision and then bringing them to life on the front-end. Passionate about CSS (I know, I know) and have been really digging into the newer features of ES6. Learning Vue has been really fun as well.
I play guitar in a death metal band, own a recording studio and I'm also an amateur photographer. Looking forward to meeting you all!
Welcome Peter!

Welcome to the community Brandon, I think you’ll fit right in!
Hello!
I am a developer looking to help others get into coding! I love teaching and development and I am trying to combine those two loves into a life long endeavour. I am really fascinated with the advancement in front-end engineering lately especially with React and RxJS.
I came here to try and connect more with people! I also adore those who can write, so I also want to practice my writing and storytelling!
Nice to meet you all!
Hi! I'm newly fun-employed and looking for people who share the same interests to talk to and/or collaborate with. My current interest is enabling people to profit off their own data instead of the big tech companies.
Even though I've been programming for most of my life, I don't really feel like I know enough to write about coding, but maybe that will change here. I'm still getting a feel for what people in DEV want to read about.
Talk to you all soon!
Hi, I'm Austen. I'm a developer and I love developer tools that enable everyone to build software, regardless of their background and available resources.
I created an open-source project called the Serverless Framework back in 2015 and have been obsessed with serverless tech ever since!
Hi 👋, im a frontend developer from germany (cologne).
Most of the time i work with javascript (a lot) (React, React-Native). I also do some occasional backend stuff (Rails, PHP). We build a lot of Administration tools and mobile Apps for our customers.
In my spare time i love to discover and learn new languages/technologies like Swift, Elixr, ReasonML or fiddle around with my workflow/setup (vim (we are in an on/off relationship 😄), atom, terminal, ...). So im always on the lookout for interesting blog posts/videos or repos.
When im not coding for work or on some of my many (of course never finished) side projects 😄, i like to golf, run and mountainbike.
Nice to meet you all 👋
(I'm always happy if i can help others, so feel free to ask.)
Hello! Great to meet you! Wow, may I know how do you manage to pick up so many languages? As I'm new, and I was quite comfortable with HTML, CSS and Javascript, but then when I pick up React because I wanted to use GatsbyJS for a project, I feel like what I've learned in JavaScript was like a fragment of what's needed.
Hi! Nice to meet you too!
Javascript is like 90% of what i do all day. So the other languages i "learned" over time with sideprojects or for smaller projects at work where i could experiment a little bit. (Though im not nearly as comftable with Swift, Rails, PHP or ReasonML as i am with JS ofc)
It gets easier over time to pick up new languages, especially when they are similar to your "main" coding language.
But there are also languages that i just cannot really get the grasp of, like ObjectiveC. (tried so many times 😄).
React just takes a little bit to get used to and understand how to "think" in react components, but once you get it, its so much fun!
Have fun with React! (and Gatsby ofc)
Hi all! My name is Taylor Crumpton. I work in the great city of Austin, TX for a small cybersecurity start-up. I majored in Data analysis but I was hired to learn front-end development using Lua and SQL. I am currently learning node.js and some machine learning, but I am eager to grow my python skill set. I didn't think I would ever become a developer, but its what my job called for, and I certainly love teaching myself new things. A more seasoned coworker (one of our backend guys) told me to check out dev.to and it is so exciting to join this community!
Hi all! My name is Jay, I'm a developer from London focusing mainly on front-end. I've been in the game for 13 years now (gosh I'm old) and have decided to join dev.to to write, learn and generally participate more in the tech community.
I've migrated my first (and only, so far!) blog post from Medium, and I'll be writing up my second soon - how I work with Google Optimize to A/B test non-trivial changes in my Angular applications!
Great to be here :)
Hi!, i am fulltime back-end developer , from Spain. I must say that sometimes i reach out front-end and back-end at the same time. I meet this community on twitter, it seems cool and i hope i will continue expand my knowledge and share useful stuff.
Hi everyone! My name is Jesus Macedo and I am an Angular Developer from Guadalajara, Mexico. I just found this awesome place and I am looking forward to learning new stuff.
I love JavaScript/TypeScript but I am also on my path to learn Dart and Python.
Nice to meet you! \m/
Hi y'all!
I've been interested in web technologies since I was a kid, and have been "messing around" making websites ever since.
I've played around a lot with WordPress and a little less with Drupal 5/6/7, but never been formally trained in anything besides some Java that I don't remember because I haven't used it since haha.
I haven't had a lot of time to give to furthering my interest over the past few years, but I recently got a new day job with a more structured schedule, so I'm dedicating more of my time to learning everything I can and hopefully working on some fun projects!
Hello all, my name is Hakeem. From New York.
I'm currently trying to figure out where I fit in the devoloper world. I so far I really enjoy back-end work. I have some experience working with some APIs but I'm still new to everything. My most recent hobby work was with some robotics but work work was interning at PNC this summer.
Haven't finished up my schooling at RIT if that helps put it into perspective. Happy to be here and hopefully learn alot.
Hello! I am a learner of programming, I wanted to join a community of people who are passionate by tech, this is my first time joining a community dedicated to something in specific, I have read before some articles in DEV however never got the chance to join till today, hope to learn a lot and keep up the good vibes!
This is late - but nice to meet you Daniel! How are you finding the community after a few months here?
Hello. I'm starting a degree in Nanotechnology this August. 17 years old. I do a lot of coding on my own. Self taught first by writing plugins for Minecraft servers with Java and then learned a whole lot more. I'm interested in AI. Regarding programming languages, I'm learning Rust. I've programmed in Java, Python, C, and all the web shenanigans. Nice to join a new community. :)
Hi, everyone. I am a 3 years backend developer, I worked in a few project written in elixir-lang. And I always want to learn frontend skill, because it's a good way to express my idea. I found the JavaScript community is very large and friendly, and JS is a great script language to build a prove of concept. The new features in ES6 attracting me, I can write program in JS as the way I did in functional languages. Node.js is fun too. Happy to learning and sharing here.
Hello, I'm a backend Software Engineer fall in love of Ruby and Neo4J.
I recently move to Japan (Fukuoka) from France (Nantes) to follow my family, so I started learning Japanese but it's more difficult than Ruby ;).
As a backend dev, I wrote several micro services for the Word Economic Form at Accenture. All of these services was coded in Ruby with the Grape Framework. I implemented some matchmaking service, Geolocation service, Recommendation engine, and many other things.
I'm learning Elixir, JS and Ruby on Rails.
Beside this, I'm a Doctor Who Fan and a Babylon 5 evangelist. I love playing Guitar and Bass and leaning new things (in mathematics, music, cinema, photography, cooking...)
I'm looking for a position in Fukuoka (I can speak English and French and hopefully Japanese soon) or in full remote. I have a preference for a Backend position, but I'm open to new horizon.
Been a paid member of medium for a while, been wanting to leave, and one tweet made that possible.
I want to contribute my knowledge to the development community and definitely learn as well. Please follow me.
Hey guys, I'm dineshkumar from Chennai, India. I'm working as a developer in tatacommunications. I'm using python, natural language processing, docker, microservices, etc., for building a cyber threat intelligence platform.

Hello everyone my name is Raquel. I am Portuguese leaving in Amsterdam. 😊 I am learning Frontend web developer so I Will glad ear from you, your tips, what to do you recommend to learn, you expertise in the field , anything that will help me to improve and be more active in the community.
Welcome Raquel! Feel free to ping the front end community with the #discuss and/or #help tag at any point you’re looking for input or answers.
Howdy,
I am a software developer based in Newberg, Oregon (just outside Portland). I founded Cloudmanic Labs about 10 years ago. We have made many different products but currently, we are focused on Skyclerk, and Options Cafe. Skyclerk is accounting software that does not suck. Options Cafe is a trading platform for trading stock options (another passion of mine).
I would say I am a pretty strong front-end developer focusing on Angular 2+ and Vue. Been writing PHP code for 15 plus years (mainly in Laravel and Craft CMS these days). Also, I am a total convert to Golang. Anything new that I write these days is in Golang.
Look forward to chatting with everyone.
Thanks.
~Spicer
Greetings,
I'm approaching my 50th birthday far too rapidly and have spent the last couple of decades building Windows desktop/server/database apps for various healthcare related tasks. I've been an IT professional for 30 years now.
Late 2018 I decided to concentrate on developing web apps. Took a few courses (thanks to Colt Steele, Dan Wahlin and Max Schwarzmüller!) on HTML, CSS, Node & Angular.
I really like Angular/Typescript as there's a lot of similarities between that and my Windows dev tool of choice - Delphi - so there was a much shallower learning curve.
Nearing completion of my first project with an Angular front end and a Delphi powered REST API backend & I now feel excited about the future & have lots of ideas for Angular apps.
To find out a little more about me (yawn) I was on the ArrayOfDevelopers web site: arrayofdevelopers.com/2019/06/13/d...
Take care everyone :)
Hi! I'm a frontend developer from Croatia, working in a field for around a year and a half now. I'm a graduate historian and librarian, but after 4 years of working in a library, I found myself in IT. Nowadays I'm working mostly in vanilla JS and React. Loving React, planing to use Gatsby and Next.js more. I've wrote some articles for my company blog, but I'm hoping one day to have my own blog writing about things I learn. Love this community, learned a lot from you! :)
Hello,
i'm shubham from jaipur (India) and working for a MNC company as a full stack developer. Mostly i was work on front end technology like React angular etc. in my future porject i will start to work on salesforce and angular.

Howdy all,
Just found this community today and it looks to be awesome. Congratulations to all for making it such a wonderful place.
I'm a Ruby developer, and I've been working with RubyOnRails for 15 years or so now (since v0.6 I think?). I'm in Perth, Australia, and I work as the only developer at a coffee roaster, building all the internal management systems. I've been at the same place for over 12 years now, and can't see any reason to move anywhere else 😀
I'm tinkering with Particle.io loggers to build environmental monitoring systems as a side gig.
Ruby ❤️
Hello, I'm a full time network/server guy, configure and modify settings for 8 years. A newbie just start learning JavaScript "hello word" code, hope to improve my coding and contribute in the community.
Great to have you! We newbies again and again in this line of work if we're willing to step outside our comfort zone.
Hi. I'm working on a few projects, one is trainee research in thermal transfer modeling with neural nets in Python, another is a searchable catalog of stuff located in the USA that involves full-stack development with the usual HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Jquery, MySQL, PHP, too many APIs and a lot of over-caffeinated swearing.
I'll probably just be a lurker.
I there, I've been a developer (mainly Python) for a bit more than 10 years now, I still deeply enjoy the problem-solving game and the creativity this job allows me to express.
I've started writing here because from time to time I encounter a problem I remember encountering before but can't remember the solution, so this will be a kind of cheat sheet for me and if it can be helpful for others, well that's two birds killed with one stone!
Hi! I am currently a part-time, online student in Software Engineering at Flatiron. Previously, I won a scholarship for a Nanodegree from Udacity in Front End Web Dev. In addition, I completed the Free Code Camp certification in Responsive Web Design. My background is in film and theatre and I plan to parlay everything I've learned when I'm done into designing web apps and other products for theatre and entertainment.
Hi all!
I am javascript developer, currently holding the job of "frontend team leader" in Eurobits, at Madrid (SPAIN). I have a background of full-stack development (db, services, apis, frontend, cloud ...) and scrum guidance.
Got many hobbies: fantasy/sci-fi reading and cinema, sports (crossfit and football) and videogames.
I have came here to keep learning and share my knowledge.
Hi! I'm Soren, or Sore Bear. I am a University Residence Life professional, turned HR Professional, turned Developer. I've been working professionally as a developer for about two years now. My day job is full stack development work with Drupal. I primarily build custom themes and modules for large scale Civic sites. I've also done several freelance projects with React and Gatsby. My current side/personal projects have been diving into Dart and Flutter.
Hello everyone! I'm a developer currently specializing in Win32 and security, but hoping to get into webdev and make nice things :-) Have to say that this site looks a lot prettier than CodeProject, which has lots of great info but does not really spark joy. Hope to learn lots here!
I'm a web developer first and foremost. HTML, CSS & JS are my
holy trinityGOTO, although I have worked my way from three BASIC variants, LOGO, scraps of Fortran, Perl, PHP, MySQL and who knows what else. It's been a long journey, that started with a Vic20, and a Sinclair Programmable Calculator. Now, I'm trying to flex some old-school muscle memory by building websites without (much) JS. Hugo is my starting point. I'm pro-Indieweb, pro-decentralisation, and pro-thinking about things that don't (explicitly) have much to do with programming.
I ❤️ you 👋
👋 Hello! I'm Naomi and I write blog posts on and off when I find something I get excited about. I generally write on company blogs and previously I wrote a lot on medium but wanted to have a place to host my work that has less barriers. I like the community behind dev.to so far - it's very motivating :). If you're into beginner-friendly Python, Docker, or MongoDB posts, you can find my assorted posts at naomi.codes :).
Hello fellow Developers!
It feels Great to be part of this community!
I'm Brian Baliach, situated in Kenya. I've worked with Java Desktop Applications and Web Application Development (mostly backend). I'll say it's been quite an interesting journey and I'd bet it doesn't stop now.
I'll be looking forward to building the knowledge I currently have on computing and technology in general and also build a network of friends who might help me grow or grow with me😊
Hi. Ian is the name. I'm a C++ DEV. I aim to do Java and mobile DEV asap. At this point Android.

Hey Devs,
I am Dilusha, from Sri Lanka. I'm a full-stack Software Engineer, being around in the industry for over 8 years now.
Well, up recently I had switched to the freelance mode to provide consultancy services for companies. Which gave me too much free time in hands to spend, hence I am creating an awesome app called ScrapeGram these days :D. Well, IndieHackers Community brought me here ;). Any fellow IH here too?
What else?
Well, I am in love with the growth of Artificial Intelligence area, and I am interested to learn and apply AI in day to day software implementations whenever necessary. Forgot to mention, I am also a heavy reader/self-researcher on Astronomy and really bothered about how it all came to existence. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
My TechStack: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, NodeJS, Angular, HTML/CSS, AWS, Serverless, NoSQL
Would love to {learn/hear/interact} with similar-minded awesome devs out there.

Currently learning Python, Javascript and React. Am open to learning new things and love to challenge myself by learning new things
Hello, I am a newbie Front-End Developer passionate about coding/programming. Never worked in that capacity and willing to acquire the skills/knowledge required to get my first job as a front-end developer. Open to mentorship and materials that can help.
Hey there everone,
Ben has started something great here. Kudos to the entire community to keep this place full of knowledge. I have been around for a while but introducing just about now.
I am a software engineer and a product designer. My company's designation says Team lead. I design solutions for complex business problems during my day job, manage a team of 10 and also code Android and iOS apps. I write on weekends and also love to design apps whenever I get time. Hi, I thought I would introduce myself.
I've been working with sql and web forms with c# for 12 years, but am learning react in an attempt to modernize my skillset in search of opportunities. I am totally blind and use a screen reader and Braille display.
Web development/design can be a bit tricky for me, especially on personal projects when I don't have colleagues who can help with design, but I enjoy getting the browser to do stuff.
I also do a lot of sql queries and c# apps at work, I recently completed a project taking an excel file exported from a program and importing it into a database. This was not easy as it was not your standard excel spreadsheet with column headers and data. It was definitely meant for human consumption and not computer consumption, but with helpful explanations from a colleague I was able to wrangle the data out of it and hopefully future sheets of that type. Perhaps I will write a post about it.
Feel free to ask any questions regarding blindness and/or how I program. Some of my side projects are on my github, I hope the code may help someone even though I am a relative beginner at modern javascript/front end. Looking forward to seeing what I can contribute.
Hi everyone. I am just starting this month with Asure, LUIS, Twilio, QnA Maker. I want to create a QnA texting with WhatsApp (Twilio) to help clients to automate answers 24/7 with training related How to? questions. I love to create problem solvers to help my clients. Thank you all!
Hi, I am Technical Manager at GeeksForLess Inc - IT Outsourcing company with R&D offices in Ukraine. I am working in Kyiv, Ukraine and my primary role is estimating, planning, executing and monitoring the processes of the development projects and keeping an eye on the QA flow. That is a description of my main activities during the last 10 years.
My area of interest is not limited to managing the development and delivering of the projects but also constantly exploring and improving technical decisions being made during this.
I have a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, few technical certificates (including AWS Solutions Architect - Associate), so can easily discuss any technical topic. My preferable programming languages are Java and JavaScript (for JS, both Frontend and Backend). Also, I have learned a lot about AI(mainly ML and CV) and Blockchain technologies during the last 3 years.
Currently exploring MemSQL database capabilities and learning AWS & GCP platforms further.
Hello, i am a full-stack developer switching to back-end.
I spent most of my hobby time hacking languages syntax, as this recent hack dev.to/munizart/hacking-js-async-a... (that's also my first post, i would love some feedback)
I really like functional programming and aiming to work with haskell or scala in a near future. My ultime goal is to become a university teacher.
Edit: I forgot to mention that i'm addicted to genetic algorithms and planning on a post-series about that topic on JS, probably (or TS)
Welcome! What would you say is primarily taking up the time you’d want to be using to create?
Hello EveryBody ,
I m recently reconverted from Telecommunication Engineer to FullStack Developer . The journey was not easy and I still have a lot of hardship with Front and Backend development and architecture . Hello! I'm currently working as a Mechanical Designer, been self learning programming for a few years now on my free time and it's great to find this community as I thought the only hang out place would be Reddit or SO which are known not to be the nicest place around.
I thought I got the hang of JavaScript, HTML, CSS. And then React happen and now I feel like I got a whole bunch of new things to learn. Since when did websites become so complicated, haha.
I am studying programming as I like to build stuffs and looking forward to the opportunity to do some remote jobs.
little suggestion, before dive into react, you might wanna try jQuery. it's lot less complicated and widely used. but lil bit old now.
