Hi all,
I successfully passed my Terraform Associate Exam on my first attempt. Please find my tips below for passing the exam.
It took me three weeks to study for the exam. The exam as most reviewers said is not hard at all if you have studied for it using the tips below.

  1. Start with the practice tests from Bryan Krausen and especially from Muhammad Saad Sarwar’s because Muhammad’s exams are a bit cheaper but prepare you very will. So get the practice tests first so you know what to expect on the exam. As many others mentioned earlier if you get over 85% in these tests you should know that you are ready.
  2. Start practicing with a small Terraform project. This really helps in internalizing the commands and making them second nature. You can get free AWS subscription for a year and do all the practice you want on virtual machines even if you are a beginner to cloud.
  3. I checked a few youtube videos regarding the Terraform exam as well to become more familiar.
  4. Lastly went through some official document practice exercises.

To sum it up, buy the practice exams first. Muhammad’s to start is a very good one. Practice on a small project, doesn’t have to be more than a small one just so that you can see the commands in action and go through official documentation which is not too exhaustive to begin with and you should be all good and be ready to pass the exam in a month or so.
Good luck!!!
