I'm not sure that it's necessary to talk with the dead to know what they thought.

Like sure it would be nice to meet Martin Luther King and ask him why he did what he did and how he found the necessary force to do that.

... but while he was killed, his books are still alive, and for $19 you could also just buy Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community?

For me, what seems to be lacking is not the information but the willingness to access to search and learn from it
