Music Monday — What are you listening to? (Playlist Edition)

cover image source: Giphy

This week, I'm opening up the channels for y'all to share your favorite playlists. Thanks to @ingosteinke for spurring the idea with this post. Frequently, I see folks chiming into these threads with links to various Spotify playlists, so let's lean into it! The genre walls have been lowered and anything is welcome, but preferably send it in playlist form. It can be a playlist you made or simply one that you follow, and if there's a story behind it, let us know about it. Go on then, share us something good!

A cartoon cassette tape dances around with sunglasses on.

How we do

In this weekly series, folks can chime in and drop links to whatever it is they've been listening to recently + browse others' suggestions. You can follow the suggested genre if you'd like, but don't feel confined to it; you're free to suggest whatever you wanna. 🙌

If you're interested in having other discussions about music, consider following the aptly named #music discussions organization.

Let's see some of those playlists! Hook me up.

Note: you can embed a link to your song using the following syntax {% embed https://... %}. This should work for most common platforms!

Looking forward to listening to y'all's suggestions! 🎶

🚨p.s. Check out @rachelfazio's sister series to Music Monday, called Podcast Palooza!🚨

To share a bit of DEV Team lore— We do Music League for our team, to share a bit of music with each other every week and I LOVE listening to our playlists that we have made!

Here is one from recent:

I love this one, this is my favorite playlist of the moment

That's the mentioned playlist: an eclectic mixture inspired by reminiscence of r&b videos featuring rainy streets, neon light, old records, and the limited palette with its blueish default colors of commodore 64 vintage home computers. Added some more tunes inspired by IDE themes like night shift, night owl, and sakura, the Japanese word for the pink cherry blossom color in spring, and some more vintage digital sounds like the great Giana sisters, Kraftwerk, Planet Rock, and some vintage-inspired retro electro like Luke Hash's Amiga.

Came across a brother by the name of Teddy Swims on YouTube over the weekend. I came across him going down that rabbit hole that it likes to put us in

YES!!! I love Teddy Swims. Great mention, Stefan!

I remember stumbling on him during COVID, but I kinda forgot about him. It looks like he's been doing the damn thing! He's got so many videos now and they look damn good!

Anywho, here's a good one of him covering MJ's Rock With You.

Wrote DevTunes FM just for that, 62 stations to choose from! 📻🎵
Also, a few days ago published an article about my major takeaways! 🥳🎉
