I'm tuning into the Texas Sun EP by Leon Bridges & Khruangbin. Needing something mellow this morning to help me get through last weeks' news in the US.

This album is so chill and just a really awesome collaboration. Here's the title track!

I just spent the weekend with my best friend so we naturally spent a lot of time blasting music we used to listen to as teens.

Some of the bands we played a ton of were...

  • Beulah
  • Hot Chip
  • M. Ward

with a dash of HAIM's "Women in Music Pt. III" thrown in for summery good measure 😉

OOoooo awesome! You 2 collectively have some great taste in music!

Of all the mentions, Hot Chip is jumping out at me as one I need to explore with more depth. I've heard a couple tunes but never really dove in. I absolutely love the cover of Vampire Weekend's "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa" that they did with Peter Gabriel. But, I kinda love everything with Peter Gabriel, haha:

Awww man! I haven't heard them in forever and that was my wife's favorite band throughout high school. I'm gonna tune in now and can't wait to send her a link! Thanks so much for sharing, Erik! 🙌
