Alright alright! So, this week the focus is gonna be on sharing music from your native, home land. You can take that prompt however you wanna... home could be where you were born, where you currently live, where you lived most of your life... It could also be your home country, state, province, city, town, etc. Alternatively, maybe you just have a song that reminds you of home? That's fair game too. Whenever sharing your choice please just let us know why this music is your choice!
How we do
In this weekly series, folks can chime in and drop links to whatever it is they've been listening to recently + browse others suggestions.
If you like talking about music, consider following the org #music discussions for more conversations about music!
So, wanna share some tunes that make you feel at home? Note: you can embed a link to your song on most platforms using the following syntax {% embed https://... %}.
I look forward to listening to y'all's suggestions! 👂 🎶

I know this is late but I'm sharing this from our country.
Dang, I missed this before!
This is freaking rad. I'm liking all the percussion and the stringed instruments sound quite cool too. That dude has an impressive voice!
Thanks for sharing, Vicente.
p.s. I'm planning on doing another homeland edition this coming Monday, that's how I ended up back here and saw this. You got the early scoop haha! 😀
haha! Gotcha. I'll try to make time to find music from my country 😀
Haha, you know it. 🤜 💥 🤛
Awww yayeah! Of course you come in here with some absolute 🔥 suggestions, Michael. Thanks so much for chiming in!
Looks like I got some musical explorin' to do today. 🙌
That's so cool! I can imagine the impact this had when it came out.
This was a kind of connection to the land my father came from when I was younger. Freundeskreis was the first group I really got into, where I found out German rap can be real smooth.
This is my favorite streaming radio station which has locations in Helsinki, Finland as well as Tallinn, Estonia—the sets are often local DJs from Finland or Estonia so it is a great service which keeps me connected to my Finnic-roots. idaidaida.net/
Oooo awesome! I'm digging this already. 🙌
I'm tuning into Tietäjät Tietää and lovin' it. Kinda reminds me of DJ Koze who I also love jamming to.
I really like listening dj sets on the Boiler Room YouTube channel and this definitely reminds me of that. 😎
Thanks so much for sharing!
Sexy suhi is a french duo producing minimalist electro songs with raw and provocative lyrics. That's kinda special but I love it so much
This is special! I'm a tad delayed here, but jamming out now and really digging this. I'm gonna have to translate the lyrics later, but the sound of it all is great.
Mace on the beat from Italy (Instrumental mix)
Awww yeah! This is a great freaking beat. I love the way that funky wah guitar sounds. The production is rad too — sounds like they're using lots of resonating filters on stuff. Great share!
Voice version is dope too. 🔥
Oooo alright alright, good suggestion. Heading to lunch now, but I'll give it a spin when I return!
Ooo yeah, these are really cool and interesting vocals — so fitting for the song! It actually reminds me a bit of the group Glass Animals.
Oh wow! Listening to these folks again today and this performance absolutely blew me away:
I' ve been listening all day Ozzy Osbourne
Ooooo this is awesome! Ozzy's new album — so cool to see him doing his thing in this music video too. His voice still rocks. 🤘 Awesome share!!
Alrighty, I'm back for even more, haha!
This time around, I wanna show off a couple cool indie groups from NC...
First up, we got Sylvan Esso, an electro-pop, husband & wife duo who hail from Durham, NC. The beats are bad ass and the vocal phenomenal. Appropriately, this video is of them at home:
Next up, check out Future Islands from Greenville NC. These folks specialize in synth pop with a bit of a retro tinge and again, phenomenal vocals. The lead singer dances like a wild animal! Here's one of my faves:
I'm back for more...
Here's a pretty damn good hip hop tune from my area that is about my area called "North Cack" by G Yamazawa (feat. Joshua Gunn, Kane Smego):
And yep, it totally brings to mind Petey Pablo's "North Carolina (Raise Up)" ... hard to hear a rap about Carolina and not think about Petey Pab, haha!
