I've built and shipped the Notion Quick Capture CLI. This tool is a command-line interface designed to streamline the process of adding new entries to a Notion database.
The primary motivation behind this tool was the common experience of wanting to quickly record a thought or an idea, only to be slowed down by the Notion desktop application's load times. For immediate capture, waiting for an app to initialize can break flow or lead to lost ideas.
Notion Quick Capture CLI addresses this by allowing users to add notes directly from their terminal. This means you can open your command line, type a short command, and your note will be added to your specified Notion database without needing to interact with the Notion app's UI.
It's intended for users who frequently capture ephemeral notes, tasks, or ideas and want to ensure these are logged into their Notion system with minimal friction. It integrates with an existing Notion database, requiring configuration for the database ID and an integration token. This setup allows for rapid data entry, making it suitable for developers, writers, or anyone who values speed in their note-taking workflow.
