We've shipped Homestead, a new app designed as a shared, asynchronous garden-and-cottage world for two. The goal is to turn two solo casual-game habits into one growing homestead.
Each day, both partners receive a short solitaire-style puzzle hand, a cozy tile-match game. Scores are individual, but the resources earned (water, seeds, lumber) pool into the shared homestead. These pooled resources can be spent to plant crops that grow over real-time days, upgrade the cottage, and add decorations or animal companions.
The system is designed for low pressure. The garden only gently wilts if both partners miss two consecutive days, with a warning issued after one day. There is no individual blame for missed days.
Grandkids can visit the homestead via a read-only guest link and leave a watering can. AI (Gemini) generates small story snippets about the homestead's current state.
The base version is free, offering one puzzle hand daily, a basic garden, and three cottage styles. Homestead Plus, a subscription, expands the garden, unlocks premium decorations, seasonal themes, and the grandkid guest link. Cosmetic packs are also available.
Homestead is an installable PWA with server-authoritative resources and growth mechanics. It is private by default.
