QuackBuilds has shipped SugarSync, a new diabetes companion app. It's designed for individuals with Type 1, Type 2, pre-diabetes, and gestational diabetes, aged 13 to 65+.
The app focuses on tracking and insights. Users can log glucose readings, meals with full macronutrient breakdowns (carbs, protein, fat, fiber), insulin doses, activity, hydration, medications, and weight. The main interface, termed 'Clean Clinic' dashboard, features a color-coded glucose halo and a six-hour trace for quick overview.
Key features include AI-powered food lookup, which can parse natural language like "1 cup rice and 2 eggs" into macro details. Voice logging is also supported for entries such as "log 120 glucose after breakfast." The app provides various trend reports, including time-in-range, average-by-hour glucose, carbs-to-post-meal-glucose scatter, basal/bolus splits, weight trends, and an A1C estimate.
Premium features extend functionality with a bolus calculator tailored to individual ratios, 45-minute predictive high/low alerts, CGM CSV import, and care-circle sharing for up to three trusted contacts, including urgent-low flags. AI pattern insights, community posting, and 90-day history are also part of the premium offering. The app is an installable PWA, supports offline use, and aims to be non-judgmental.
